Échanges avec les voyageurs

I hope that your visit will be at a time when we're both free to have a few meals together and chat. But I'm flexible--it may well be the case that either or both of us are too busy for that!

Note for AIRP participants: My AIRP guests have all been extremely focused on their studies. I think they have found that my quiet house lends itself well to both individual and, for groups that have reserved 2-3 rooms, group study sessions. I am quiet and unobtrusive, and want to support your efforts to learn as much as you can while you're here.

Autres remarques

If you're interested in a long-term stay, perhaps for an internship, professional training, or fellowship, you are likely to find this central location well-suited to your needs. I'm sure you'll find both your room and the entire house comfortable and convenient for study, relaxation, and exploring downtown DC and Silver Spring.
I warmly welcome people of all different races, ethnic backgrounds, religious and political beliefs, and sexual orientations, and hope that my guests feel the same way. Meeting people of varied backgrounds is one of the things I like most about being a host!

I had a great experience at Susan's place in the Sliver spring. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived - Susan takes care of every detail in hosting guests in her charming home - I wish I had more time to talk to her while I was there. Definitely a great place for those visiting DC or Silver Spring.

I would def recommend this place for people planning to do their AIRP rotation. Susan's place is clean, comfortable and quiet, which allows you to study comfortably. Susan is so kind and lets you use most of the stuff at her place. The distance from her place to AIRP is about 20 min walk which I did not mind at all, but if it is a warm day, it can be sweaty! And also there is free parking available off street, which is a huge advantage. So if you are not an extremely high maintenance person who is looking for a place to stay for AIRP, highly consider this opportunity.

The room was great! Quiet and comfortable. Susan was a fantastic host, very attentive and engaging. I enjoyed visiting with her and her other guest on the back deck with a glass of wine in hand. I would definitely stay again.

I love my work as a speech-language pathologist in an elementary public school. I'm laid-back, maybe a bit on the quiet side, and enjoy hiking, gardening, reading, travel, cooking, nature study, and meeting new people. At the moment, I'm especially focused on learning Spanish, as my school has a high Latino population and I'm teaching English as a second language to adults in the community.
While it's wonderful to live so close to the District (especially for theater, walking, music, and dining) and the Red Line, I frequently walk to downtown Silver Spring and Takoma Park for the farmer's markets, movies at the American Film Institute, dining, and shopping. Each town has its unique character and history, different from more "typical" suburbs. I hope I can introduce some of these things to you during your next trip to the DC area!
