I loved staying at Hotel 2000 Roma! It was the most perfect location!
Set on top of Quirinal Hill right next to Quattro Fontane and just up from Piazza Barberini, the location was absolutely fabulous.
You can walk to the Palazzo Quirinale, Palazzo Barberini and Piazza Barberini within minutes and to Via Nazionale in the other direction.
The Trevi fountain & Spanish Steps are also walking distance, as is the Colosseum and the Vittorio Emmanuel/ Piazza Venezia with a good pair of shoes! Great restaurants can be found off Via Nazionale down via Genova and bars & restaurants on & off via Boschetto, less than 10 minutes away.
Fernando is a delight to talk to and happy to see you.
My only suggestion is bring your own pillow if you suffer from hay fever like I do & if you're fussy with pillows, apart from that the room and hotel is everything it says it is with no pretence, it's a clean room to lay your head after a busy day. If you want information on Rome, best to visit an information centre.
The rooms are close so you will need to respect others and be quiet as this is the vibe of the hotel and area. Fernando is happy to see you and the coffee at breakfast was a pleasant surprise! Just a little tip, the Palazzo Barberini is free on the first Sunday of every month and totally worth it! Ciao Lucy
