Thank you for your feedback John; it helps my co-host and I to continue the process of constant improvement. If I may, I'd like to offer a few words in response to your described issues:
My co-host Scott and I have worked quite well together in hosting as a team on airbnb, as we've accommodated over 1,750 guests in the past 22.5 months. We treat all guests with the same level of respect and welcome everyone into my home as if they were family. If you are a potential guest reading this, please read some of my other (currently) 419 reviews to get an idea of what our hosting style is like. I, personally, will (and actually did once) give the shirt off my back if it helps anyone to have a better stay.
You are correct -- I was on a business trip in Seattle during the nights you stayed. You originally mentioned a check in time of 4pm which my co-host was certainly ready for and changed to 6pm at the last minute. I did, however, give you specific instructions on entering my home, where the bathroom was, where the shower was, etc. In addition, I responded in under a minute to all of your messages throughout your stay, including when Scott was working and not prepared to check you in, even while away in Seattle on business.
As for the washing machine and dryer, you're correct -- it is listed in amenities. However, my washer/dryer was not been working perfectly at the time; certainly not nearly the standard I expect and require at my 365 days per year airbnb. I would never, on my life, host or provide anything that is less than expected working order or quality in the case of an appliance (i.e. leave you with clothes that weren't entirely dry). To be honest, I strongly feel this comment is unfair due to your acceptance and thanks of my best recommendation, which was the local laundry-mat. By all accounts, you seemed to be very happy with that. As soon as I returned from Seattle, special attention was paid to the washer and dryer to ensure that both were back up to working order immediately.
Despite your writing what (I feel like to be) entirely misplaced and misleading concerns mentioned in this review, I certainly appreciate your stay.
