First of all we did overall enjoy our month long stay at David's place. We were happy with the location and the studio condo itself. It is about 3 long blocks to Waikiki beach and only takes about 10 minutes to walk. For the most part communication with David was good and timely. Our only disappointment was that the pool was undergoing maintenance (closed) for 17 of the 29 days of our stay. Overall, I would recommend staying at this condo.

Comfortable place for short or long stay. My wife and I stayed a month in May and are coming back. Wifi is very good and reliable at 20 Mbps just note that if it goes off, just unplug the modem for 10 seconds and reconnect. Happened twice in a month. From door to toes on the beach between Dukes and the Royal Hawaiian hotel is exactly 8 minutes where the bobbing waves are the best in the world. Grocery store only 10 minute walk with inexpensive mini-market in building as well as funky bar playing 60's music. Very nice man at the condo desk who has lots of information about the area. Well equipped kitchen although we mainly went to the King's Village on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for cut salads fruit and vegetables as well as sticks of meat and plates of noodles, rice, pork and chicken. You are right in the midst of tourist town but nice to take walks on the canal. You can get a tourist card at the library at the end of the canal for $10 to get books and videos which is a 20 minute walk to the end of the canal. The balcony is right across from a hotel walkway but it is not busy so seem private but no view, just a nice place to sit out side in the shade of plants. The place has beach mats and beach chairs. The condo has a laundry room where people have left floats, children beach toys, and boggy boards. I only emailed Dave for a couple of questions and he was responsive. Otherwise no contact since all was fine. Bus stops to Hanauma Bay and other beaches and into Honolulu a couple of minutes away. There is an Enterprise car rental place right up the street as well as Uber for some trips. Great budget place to enjoy Oahu.

My husband and I had a wonderful 30-day stay. Although the neighborhood and building is a little dated, you cannot beat the location. The apartment is in Waikiki just about 1 block from everything (beach, mall, grocery store) and has a convenience store downstairs if you feel snackish or feel like having drinks by the pool. There is no real need for a rental car, as you can walk or UBER almost everywhere and parking nearby is roughly $20 a day and in short supply. However, David did let us know about a the Enterprise Rental Car location that offered $20 daily weekend rentals which worked out great when we wanted to explore the entire island. The neighbor next door, George, is a plethora of information and extremely pleasant. One recommendation if you plan on staying for a long stint of time, order your groceries (EMAIL HIDDEN) to save you time and a lot of money.

Such a wonderful stay! So close to the beach, we rated for a month and walked to the beach everyday. The condo is perfectly located near night life but far away that you don't hear any of it and can sleep peacefully. 5/5 Stars. If I ever come back to Waikiki... I will check to see if this condo is available!

David's home truly is a piece of paradise in Waikiki; we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our little apartment just off the beach. David was very communicative prior to our arrival, sending us all the information we needed about what to do when we first checked in and what to pay attention to when we left. We arrived early in the day and were able to check in even though it wasn't yet the afternoon. The apartment is very cozy and comfortable, well stocked with kitchen supplies (a coffee maker AND a keurig.....we LOVE our morning coffee!!), and other necessities. It was even nicer than it appeared in the pictures; the decorations are eclectic and personal, like things that were collected over time, not just bland, coordinated, hotel-like pictures and knick-knacks. The futon couch was firm, as described in earlier reviews, but there were lots of pillows and it was perfect for relaxing in (TV watching, reading, or napping). We barely used the air-conditioner because the cross-breezes were perfect. The apartment building is retro-cool, with a great pool and patio garden area (tiki torches every night!). The staff were friendly and helpful, with recommendations on where to shop and dine. There were boogie boards and snorkeling supplies in the laundry room to borrow. The bus stops just around the corner, and costs only $2.50 to go all around the island. We went via bus to Hanauma Bay to go snorkeling (twice, we liked it so much!). We also took the bus to Pearl Harbor, Chinatown, and to Aloha Arena for some souvenier shopping. Waikiki Beach is only a small area of Honolulu, with many fun restaurants and shops within walking distance (happy hour at the Top of Waikiki, poke take-out from Coco's Cove). If you are willing to walk a little further or take a quick bus ride you can find even more fun restaurants to try. There is even good snorkeling within walking distance, in front of the zoo (to the right of the rock pilings). I wasn't sure that I would like being in a city instead of a more remote "tropical Hawaiian beach experience", but we ended up enjoying our time here more than the 5 days we spent on the North Shore, where we had to drive everywhere, which had rougher surf (not great for our 8-year old son) and where it seemed more touristy overall. I would stay here (this exact apartment) again in a heart-beat. Thank you for opening your home to us, David!

We stayed at David's place for a month and really enjoyed our stay. I think it was a great value for being in heart of Waikiki. The apartment felt fairly spacious and had all items that we needed. The only thing that was missing was a view. The king sized bed was great and loved relaxing out on the lanai. I definitely recommend this rental. Thanks a bunch David!
