When did you last go camping in a tent? Pack your bags, food and spirits and travel to the mountains of Western North Carolina for a getaway with nature. We'll take care of the rest!

We will greet you upon your arrival and introduce you to The Tents at Mountain Cabin and our property.

On clear nights, you can enjoy star-gazing from the Mountain Cabin hilltop overlooking fields and pastures with zero light pollution. Fireflies will light up the night beneath the stars late spring and summer.

Weekend weddings are often held in our farm's rolling-roof barn and often provide evening music and live entertainment to listen to as you sit by a fire at your campsite. You will be notified of barn happenings prior to your arrival.

Located just minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can enjoy miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, sight-seeing, mountain views, picnics, tubing, zip-lining and more within a short drive from the tent.

We are just a short distance away at our Mountain Cabin if, and when, you need us. We want you to enjoy your getaway, and not be bothered by us during your stay, but know we not far away.

Feel free to bring your own flashlights, battery-powered charging devices, battery-operated candles and other battery-powered lighting.

No open flames, loud devices or generators are allowed.

You will need a car (4-wheel drive is not necessary) to get to town to the grocery and other area attractions.

Accès des voyageurs

You will have access to portions of our property and open air shed, with open fields and trails to enjoy. With the barn being used as a wedding venue, unfortunately it isn't available for visits.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We are available prior to your arrival and during your stay to answer any questions you have. Call, text or email us before and during your stay. We will greet you upon your arrival and go over operational and safety details. During your stay, we allow you complete privacy and are only a short distance away at the Mountain Cabin if you should need us.

The local noise ordinance ceases loud sounds at 10:00 p.m. each night, so you can plan on a quieter evening from 10 forward if there happens to be a wedding booked during the weekend of your stay.

This was our second time staying at the tents and we will definitely be coming back. The experience, the hospitality, the little touches, and the host have been consistent in exceeding our expectations both times. Angie is a phone call or text away if you need ANYTHING. Her special touches at the tent make us feel right at home. They just installed a wood stove in the tent which makes camping in the cold doable. We love I️t here!

Glamping!! It's the way to go. Angie and Troy greeted us when we arrived and already had a fire going and all the torches lit. They were soooo friendly that it made us even more excited to be there. After giving us a quick run down on how to operate some of the appliance and showing us everything available to us, it was time to relax. My husband and I were celebrating our 5 year Anniversary and Angie had a bottle of Prosecco (MY FAVORITE) and a sweet hand written card waiting for us. They have thought of EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING, every little detail from the fresh flowers in the vases, to local books and playing cards. All the cooking utensils, flashlights, fire starter, extra blankets and the warmest softest robes ever. Even little snacks in the cooler to enjoy in the morning, fresh local muffins, and organic toothpaste. Oh, and the shower was hot and the potty was clean!! I can't say enough about this place, and part of me doesn't want to because I want it to be available every time I want to go back. I will say there was a wedding on Saturday night and it did get quite loud, but I have also never been to a wedding that played the type of music that they were playing so I feel like this was an exception. It would have been much nicer without the loud music but wasn't such a big deal that we wouldn't come back. Also, if you are bothered by common smells of a farm, then this is not the place for you. It did not bother my husband and I, we loved seeing the cows in the morning but you are aware that they are nearby because you can smell them. Just something to think about before booking. Overall, one of the nicest most relaxing camping trips I have taken. I am spoiled forever! We will most definitely be back!! Thanks so much for all you did to make this place so special.

Thank you for your kind words Jessica! We are so glad that you appreciated the detail at The Tent, as we’ve tried to create the best experience possible for our guests. I am glad we were able to give you the heads up about the barn wedding being held during your stay (we always warn potential guests in case that’s an issue for them). With your thoughts, I realize we have included most everything we could think of for the comfort of our guests….but we’re missing one thing...a wireless bluetooth speaker! With that, guests can listen to their own music from their smartphones and mute the barn music if they choose. The speaker has already been included on the amenity list and is in place for this weekend’s arriving guests. Being located on a 400-acre farm, we do have cows and horses around the property. Depending on the condition of the many pastures on the property and the schedule of hay-cutting season, the cows and horses are relocated often from one pasture to another. They just so happened to be across the creek from the tent during your stay. We haven't been made aware of any smells in the past, as the pasture consists of several acres and the animals are not confined to a small area. I am glad that you brought this to our attention and that they weren't a bother to you. The baby calves are especially fun to watch, they remind us of children playing! We look forward to welcoming you back to the mountains and certainly appreciate the care you took of the tent site, tent and furnishings. Thank you for moving items onto the porch before you left to keep them dry and clean from the heavy rainfall the day of your departure. I'm so glad we met you both! We hope to see you again soon!

We can't express enough how wonderful our stay was at Angie's place. Both Angie and Troy had anything and everything you could think of covered and were outstanding hosts for our entire stay. The decor was both inviting and charming which made you feel right at home. I've stayed in many hotels that weren't as nice as these accommodations. The attention to detail was over the top! From his and hers bathrobes at the outdoor shower to locally made snacks and freshly picked wildflowers. You can't go wrong staying here and would recommend to anyone looking for an amazing outdoor getaway.
