Le logement
This is a fantastic spacious apartment which gets the sun all day. It is part of an old building and has one apartment above it. It Sleeps 6 - 2 bdrms 1st flr & sofa bed in lounge - all in main apatmnt; In addition is has a Grndfloor bdrm (double) which is also a walkthrough to outdoors and off communal stairway. The pool, patio and large garden are private. It is in a rural location so you need a car - only 3 minutes drive to the local town Pieve di Teco.

Quirky features reflecting the history of the building as a convent. All rooms are spacious and fully equipped; a very large 1st flr covered balcony is perfect for dining, sunbathing and chilling out. Two large ground floor cellar rooms are cool and lead to a large private patio; stone steps underneath the shady willow tree lead into a large garden and onto the large pool area which has its own patio area with loungers, chairs/table and suspended ‘egg chair’.

The master bedroom has a beautiful vaulted ceiling, with double doors leading onto a juliet balcony looking out onto the street (not over-looked); it has an oak framed super kingsize bed, a large chest of drawers and a large 'reclaimed wood' wardrobe. There's ample space to pull out a spare single mattress from under the bed for someone else to sleep on. We have a travel cot in this room as well, if required. The tiled floor is covered in a huge persian rug. Our family of 4 (5 and 3 yr old) all sleep in this room when we stay.

The second bedroom has double doors to a small balcony, large enough to fit 2 chairs to enjoy the fantastic view for that early morning coffee or 'dust buster beer' at the end of the day. A large rug, metal framed double bed, chest of draws and chair, give plenty of comfort and storage for 2 people. Leave the shutters open and you have a great view to wake to!

The third double bedroom is on the groundfloor, and is wonderfully cool. It has a desk and chairs, bedside tables and lamps which emphasise the vaulted ceiling and history of the building. Please NOTE access is separate to the main flat, via shared stairway + passing through this room is the only way to access to the garden/pool is through this room so it is sectioned off with a curtain for privacy.

Bedding and Towels are all provided. All mattresses have protective covers for additional comfort.

The Kitchen is brand new, with dishwasher, convection hob, standard grill and oven and a large dining table; a separate larder also houses a new washing machine/fridge freezer. Plenty of pots and pans, glasses, crockery and cutlery, a set of sharp knives, chopping boards, grater, colander and most importantly a corkscrew!

The Lounge is really special, with the same quirky vaulted ceilings as some of the other rooms and a window with shutters. A large corner sofa bed, takes seconds to put up or down and is really comfortable either as full time bed (sleeps 2), for an afternoon snooze or to lie out and chill with family and friends in the evening to watch a movie. There are two other funky yellow armchairs, a tall boy for storage, an old vintage mirror with fairy lights and a quirky cupboard in the wall full of books, games and pictures. The floor is tiled. There is a 32 inch television and DVD player so do bring your movies.

The bathroom has a big shower, sink with lit mirror above it, a toilet and plenty of storage space. Beach towels/small towels (6 each) are provided. The electrically heated hot water tank is huge and has plenty of steaming hot water for lots of showers.

You reach the groundfloor double bedroom via a stairway. The second groundfloor room houses a vintage olive press, a fridge so you have drinks accessible easily downstairs, and double doors which open out onto a large private patio, the garden and pool. The same large willow tree provides generous shade and stone steps lead out onto the large garden.

The private pool is 8m * 3.5m is decked and gated. It has plenty of patio area around it, with 5 comfy loungers, 4 chairs and a table with parasol and a fantastic ‘egg chair’. It’s an above ground kit sunken into the garden and has a natural sand filter and is maintained regularly. It’s a great refreshing dip and fun for the kids.

Garden - There's lots of space to spread out and enjoy the sounds of the Italian countryside from our neighbours working dogs echoing across the hills to water running in the idyllic stream, which is a few minutes walk away and amazing to paddle in. There's various bits of garden furniture, including loungers. We also have a large inflatable pool to cool down in. There's a plum tree, cherry trees, and a Bay tree (great for cooking with) in the garden. There are fantastic views down the valley and hillside opposite and a fence and beautiful Olliander bushes separate our garden from our friendly neighbours on one side. To the other side of the garden is an impressive abandoned old stone villa which adds to the atmosphere of the whole place.

Accès des voyageurs
The place is yours and yours alone. You can park in the garden by driving through the village, past our front door, and turning right onto land which we own. it's old terraced land and if you follow it round you'll reach our garden where you can park and get into house through the groundfloor rooms. The garden adjoins our friendly next door neighbours and you will see and hear them from time to time.

Autres remarques
Things to do - enjoy the place, try your Italian, buy local produce (Vessalico, a small local village has the best Garlic in Europe), go down to the stream, visit Porto Maurizio for an ice-cream on the beach, visit Pieve Di Teco for a coffee in the square, visit Borghetto D’Arroscia and swim in the river pool with the locals!

Muzio, Ligurie, Italie

Muzio is a special place full of farmers making oil, wine and even some working dogs which live opposite. The fantastic medieval town of Pieve Di Teco is 3 or 4 minute away and it has everything you need, even it’s own local spring water dispenser for 5 cents for 1L. You’re 20 mins drive from Imperia (Port Maurizio - gorgeous old town on harbour with beaches) and the whole coastline is full of amazing beaches - Alassio, Albenga, San Remo and more are all within 40 mins drive. If you simply want to stay put, the countryside is available to explore right from the back garden. A number of short adventure walks into the terraced hillsides to discover 400 yr old abandoned hunting lodges and farm houses and walks down to the local stream.

We work in music and health care and have 5 and 3 yr old. We've worked hard to get the flat in shape, and although there is definitely more to do, we hope you will enjoy it.
