BEST NYC CENTRAL! Walking distance to UN, Grand Central, Penn station, Empire State Bldg. Prv room, Twin BD share the full-bath with ONLY me! I am a personal trainer & also work in the medical field. ***MUST BE CAT FRIENDLY: SM SPACE, lg fluffy cat that loves people! Small & fab space/central to ALL NYC OFFERS!
The space is FABULOUS for getting to everything you want to see in the city & surrounding areas. Small & fab space/central to ALL NYC OFFERS!
. ***IF YOU DON'T LIKE CATS THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.
WHEN sending a request to book this will speed the process:
1) Is the cat OK?
2) How are you traveling to the city? Preferred check-in time. (I try to accommodate as best I can. I work 2 jobs so this information is very important for both of us :)
3) What time will you be leaving the apartment?
There is NO DOORMAN so I can't leave a key. I need to be home to show you in.
My place is very basic, (no doorman, no dishwasher) in an amazing location! It is VERY safe, secure, clean, calm, great neighbors in a pre-war building. The neighborhood is fabulous and I must admit that I don't cook much because there are so many other great chef's in NYC. The kitchen is also very small and a challenge for cooking.
However, you have access to the kitchen, frig, stove, microwave...make yourself at home. I DO NOT provide GROCERIES. (I had a guy eat all my food and leave the jars/boxes empty, so I have to state this now.)
*I will also be staying in the apartment. It's important for us to communicate well so that both of us will be comfortable. I like a nice calm energy in the (URL HIDDEN) oasis from the hustle & bustle of Manhattan! I try to be selective with guests to maintain positive, healthy experiences for both parties. :)
The room is a small bedroom with a twin bed that is very comfortable and clean. I am the only other person living in the home. We will share a bathroom and a couple of house rules to keep it clean for us both.
1) Toilet seat down before (URL HIDDEN) urine isn't sprayed into the air and all over the bathroom.
2) Disinfectant wipes are beside the sink. Help yourself to wipe down the sink if you've splashed about!
3) If you have long hair that sheds....PLEASE take a piece of tissue and clean this from the drain. You would probably do that in your own home so please do it mine. Thank you!
I prefer that we do not wear shoes in the house please. So if barefeet is an issue bring your slippers or socks.
If you have any questions just ask. I hope you'll enjoy your stay with me and Adam Duritz the cat! Welcome to NYC!
Accès des voyageurs
BEST LOCATION in Manhattan for exploring all parts of the city easily and conveniently!
Midtown East / Murray Hill steps away 33rd St 6 Station or Grand Central (to everywhere). Buses/Ferries they are all here convenient for you.
There is NO DOORMAN. Please when sending a request let me know the time of your desired check-in. Also how you will be traveling to the city. Sometimes planes are trickier than trains. :)
I usually meet each guest personally upon check-in to show you how to use the keys and introduce you to the apt & neighborhood. It's good for us to communicate early about check-in time/arrival time and check-out so I can arrange my schedule and I try my best to accommodate my guests.

I keep a busy schedule with training and working in the OR. I am usually up and out early in the morning, back mid-day, out again and back later in the evening.
We can have as much or as little contact as you would like. I'm big on privacy and also very open to helping and getting to know people. I am a great person to help network in the city as my career as a trainer has allowed me to meet many people from many walks of life.
We're all adults....and that's what I'm hoping to host. Common Sense and treat others the way you would want to be treated works for me!
I am living in the apartment as well as Adam Duritz...the cat.
*** I don't provide breakfast or groceries.
WHEN INQUIRING about a stay: Please share your estimated time of arrival or preferred checkin time and your preferred time of check-out. I try to work with people. (Please don't lie about this as it is very important for us to communicate well about check-in especially). I have no doorman! This will will save us both some time as I'll know if I can accommodate your wishes. This is not my only job and scheduling is important for this to work.
IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF CATS YOU SHOULD BOOK ELSEWHERE! I'm tired of having people book with me that hate/terrified of cats...I have a small space a VERY LOVING GENTLE CAT....
I HAVE SUFFERED MISERABLY ACCOMMODATING PEOPLE THAT SAY THEY ARE FINE WITH CATS THEN MAKE CRAZY DEMANDS! I WILL IMMEDIATELY CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION IF YOU HAVE LIED ABOUT THIS. I don't want that energy in my home! Thank you for your honesty and consideration! I hope you love cats because Adam is great as you can see from the reviews. His selfie fan-club is growing as you can see from some of the profile pic's.
*This is a two bedroom apt and I will occupy the other bedroom during your stay. I think you'll find me to be a warm, welcoming host that will respect and give you your privacy and space while also welcoming you to engage and get to know each other if you like. I have many friends and a great network in NYC and I'm always willing to help!
We're adults and you're staying in my home which will be your temporary home-away-from-home. I view this as us being flat-mates.
Please be respectful of the fact that I rise at 6 ish each morning (quietly) so please no late night parties and no one other than the approved guest is allowed in the apartment without my prior permission. I'll be respectful of you and you the same with me please.
Remember, this is your temporary home and this is my full-time home. Some of these rules may seem weird that I even have to say them....I AGREE! But after 3 years as a host, trust me they are worth putting in writing in order to preserve my sanity and keep the apartment in the best working order for the best cleanliness and positive energy, positive experience for all!
NO SHOES in the apt. Take your shoes off on the rug as you enter. NYC streets carry a lot of dirt so leave your shoes somewhere on entryway rug.
Clean up after yourself...kitchen, bathroom, living areas. If you take or borrow something.....replace it. *just because airbnb is the name of the service does not mean I provide breakfast for guests. I DO NOT PROVIDE GROCERIES/FOOD. You will need to supply your own.
Bathroom: We will be sharing.
Please close the toilet lid before flushing the toilet so that we can keep the bathroom clean and not spray urine into the air and on our toothbrushes.
Wipe down the sink afterward. Wipes are next to it (please don't leave blood/urine or other body waste on sink, in toilet or on floor).
Please if you have hair shed in the bathtub while showering, just use some toilet paper pick it up and put it in the garbage.
Let's communicate well.....I want you to have a wonderful experience staying in our home! I'm not the maid....I will be your NYC flat-mate! :)
Originally from Asheville NC, I have lived in NYC twice now for a total of 8 years. I offer southern hospitality but with all the knowledge that goes into learning how to adapt to NYC. Adam Duritz is the resident cat that will love you more than you thought cats were capable! If you are a cat lover this is your place! You'll feel welcome and comfortable sharing my pad. I look forward to meeting you.
