If antiquing is your thing, Alameda and nearby towns offer lots of it! Lovely little family owned shops, tons of ethnic restaurants and Lake Merritt in Oakland close by. Alameda Hospital is half a block and Kaiser Hospital in Oakland five miles distance. Restored Art Deco Movie theatre/multiplex a few blocks away. Make Alameda your jumping off point for the wine country, San Francisco, Sausalito, Tiburon or Berkeley. And dont forget the East Bay state parks and giant redwoods of Muir Woods in Marin County

This is a quiet, residential neighborhood so no loud music please after 10pm weeknights and 11pm weekends. No smoking in or on the grounds. No pets. The apartment is cleaned by professional cleaners before each guest arrives and we ask that the apartment and contents be treated with respect. A rental agreement is provided at check-in for signature. At checkin 10% tax on the room rate will be collected either cash or credit card.
Both of us have lovingly and faithfully renovated and restored this 1898 Victorian "colonial revival" home. I am fortunate enough to have a successful career in the hospitality industry and truly enjoy making guests comfortable and happy during their visit to Alameda. Eddie, a retired civil engineer and general contractor, has upgraded all the systems and ensures it is maintained meticulously. We were honored to receive an historical preservation award from Alameda for our work a few years ago. In my spare time I love combing consignment stores, yard sales and antique shows in search of unique vintage pieces of furniture which I enjoy re-imagining and restoring. Many of my pieces are used in the apartment which is updated occasionally with new finds. Things we cannot live without: our wonderful friends, our sons, and two cats, Quentin and Socks (with only three legs). Now we are senior citizens and the kids have flown the coop, they are our surrogate children! Our cats are indoors only and not allowed in the rental.
