Description

Located on the edge of Hollywood and Rose City Park. The neighborhood is quite with households of families and working professionals. The #12 bus line and the Hollywood Max serve the neighborhood and downtown.

You are just two miles from city center down Sandy Blvd. 50th Avenue is a dead end street and the house backs up to Alameda Ridge so your stay will be private and restful. The house feels like a cozy cottage set up and away from the main street. This affords you peace and quite you would not expect just steps away from the bustling neighborhood.

The house is a walk up, with four stairs leading from the sidewalk to a short walkway that leads to the house. Six more steps land you on the front porch. Once inside, one bedroom, the bath, dining, and living rooms and the kitchen are yours. For guests who prefer fewer steps there is a short walk on gravel to the back entry that leads you into the kitchen.

You should consider this a home away from home. You will not see us unless there is gardening to be done or something needs our attention at which point we want you to call.

My interest is being able to welcome travelers into my home. AirBnN requires complete profiles including a photo and verifications so that everyone can feel safe. Unless a profile is complete we are not able to proceed with bookings and we won't have a chance to host you in our home.

Hollywood and Rose City are well established neighborhoods. Food and shopping are close by and if you wander down to Sandy and head north you will soon come upon the Laurelwood Public House and Brewery, Hogan's Goat Pizza (a favorite) Cabezon Fish House, Case Study Coffee, and the Bake Shop. You might also like to wander into the new food cart pod just steps beyond the brewery. Heading down Sandy you will find Killer Burger and Hot Lips Pizza on the corner at 47th. Continuing down Sandy into the heart of Hollywood you will come to Whole Foods, Rios Ribs, Atomic Pizza and other alternatives to fast food. If you are more interested in cooking, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and the Hollywood Farmers Market (on Saturdays) are just a short walk away.

You are just steps away from the # 12 bus line that will take you into downstown. The bus picks up in front of the US Post Office on Sandy. You are also about a half mile from the Hollywood Station of Portland's MAX line. The Red Line will take you to and from downtown and the Airport. The Red, Blue, and Green lines all run into downtown... passing Lloyd Center, the Moda Center, and the Convention Center along the way. You can pick up the Yellow Line at the Moda Center if you are headed out to the Coliseum or Portland International Raceway. Uber, Car to Go, Zip Car, and Relay Rides are reliable alternatives to renting a car while you are in town.

Bike Gallery and Velo Cult offer alternatives to rent bikes. Velo Cult is also popular for blue grass, dancing, and movies on various nights of the week. The historic Hollywood Movie Theatre is a short walk down Sandy.

We are a non smoking household and we are pet free. There is TV and wireless internet. Although there is a fireplace we do not burn it at this time. The heat during the spring and summer is set in the low 60s and if you need to adjust it a bit for the evening please remember to turn it down during the day.

The carpeted bedrooms were recently redone and I would request that you remove your shoes before going into that part of the house.

Your key will unlock the front and kitchen doors. Please be certain to lock the doors when you leave for the day.

There is recycling in the kitchen. If it becomes overfull, there is a bin under the front porch out the kitchen door and through the small door to your right. If the kitchen garbage becomes overfull likewise there is a larger can under the front porch.

Before you depart please load any remaining dishes in the dishwasher, clean out any leftover food from the refrigerator, and be certain you have not left anything behind. You can leave your bath towels and linens in place and I will take care of them upon your departure.

We loved staying at Rosy's place! Truly a high-end apartment/house in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Even though it's only one bedroom, there is a ton of space to spread out in and lots of natural light. We will definitely be staying here again. Thanks, Rosy!

Rosy's place is beautiful, immaculate and cozy. She was warm and welcoming, and provided everything needed for a great stay (including french press coffee and chocolate:). I rented a car while I was there, and was glad I did, but public transport is just a block away if needed. The kitchen is beautiful, and there is a Whole Foods just down the street. The house is quiet and private, and has a lovely garden in the back. I would definitely recommend staying here!

I had a fantastic stay in Rosy's place! Extremely clean, quiet and beautifully decorated, it was an ideal situation. There are many thoughtful touches that really set Rosy apart from other Airbnb hosts, including complimentary snacks and drinks, plenty of pillows, blankets, extra towels, a very well equipped kitchen including rubber gloves for washing dishes and lovely cleaning products. I'm already looking forward to returning for a second stay soon!

Rosy's place is amazing - a beautifully appointed one bedroom house with a terrific walk score. We are moving to Portland - otherwise we'd stay there again and again and again. It's perfect.

Rosy was a wonderful host. Pre-visit, she stayed in touch. She was there to meet us when we checked in. When the battery died on our son's car (which we were borrowing), she re-arranged a meeting and came over and got us help from a neighbor. So all that is terrific - and then the place is amazing. It is a house (a rare treat) with a regular and wonderful kitchen, a table that seats six, and lovely living room and a very pleasant bedroom. There is an optional second bedroom. Everything is clean, neat, and very aesthetically pleasing. We are in Portland twice a year and plan to stay here again and again and again. It was perfect for us (a few blocks from our son's house) and in a great location. I walked everywhere.

Rosy makes you feel at home with a goody basket and lots of info. Prior to our arrival she provided suggestions for restaurants and activities. The neighborhood consists of cute craftsmen style houses and is safe and walkable. It is also convenient to downtown. The home is well equipped for cooking or reheating leftovers. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations.

We feel lucky to have found Rosy's house on Airbnb! Rosy is a thoughtful host, very bright and heartwarming. Not only did she recommend local restaurants and great places to go, she also provided information of seasonal events and foods which I think only local people know. In the house there's a snack selection, local zine, magazines, maps and plenty travel information that really helped us get to know the area. The house is tastefully decorated, clean, warm, very cozy... feels like home. We found almost everything we need, from a mixer to make fresh juice everyday, to plastic containers to bring out our lunch and enjoy them under sunshine. We stayed in Portland for 2 weeks, Rosy and her lovely house made our trip unforgettable. Thank you Rosy, we love you! (heart)

I am from Portland OR where I work for the federal government. I enjoy running, cycling, hiking, the beach, food, and the arts. Any local secrets of things to see or experience would be great fun for me.
