À propos de ce logement
If you are looking for a beautiful rural setting close to Te Anau and Manapouri, this little cottage could be just what you need. It has lovely views and is clean, cosy and well equipped. Please note that we have a large, gentle dog.
Our charming cottage is small but contains everything you need for a comfortable stay. There's no laundry but I am happy to do laundry for you, except in times of water shortage (happens occasionally even in this famously wet part of New Zealand!) when we use a laundromat in town.

We do not own the surrounding farm, but have enough land for pet sheep and hens. Just follow the path through the little gate to enjoy the views from our tree circle and lean over the fence to pat our rascally sheep, Marmite, Milo and Lightening.

Mararoa cottage has a lovely, private setting with beautiful views but is just fifty metres away from our home. While we may not be around when you arrive we will come over to see you as soon as possible to insure you have settled in comfortably.
Mararoa Cottage is fifteen minutes drive from Te Anau, gateway to Fiordland National Park and the road to Milford Sound. A folder in the cottage details local walks, some within walking distance of the cottage.
Coach trips to Milford Sound are available from Te Anau. Coaching is a great option unless you simply love driving, as the Milford Road can be challenging. You can choose to take a large coach or a minibus.
We have been welcoming guests to Mararoa Cottage for seven years and would love to be part of your New Zealand experience.
Kitchenette contains microwave, toaster, electric jug, electric frying pan, two ring gas hob, small fridge. There is a TV and DVD player and a collection of DVDs. Electric blankets on both the double and single bed. Quiet electric heating/air conditioning . Cellphone reception. WIFI.
There is a good gas barbecue.
Check in is 2 pm, check out 11 am. No smoking please. We regret pets cannot stay at Mararoa Cottage and please don't let our dog Moss convince you that he is allowed inside, he's not!

I feel incredibly lucky to live and work in Fiordland. My job involves caring for birds at the Te Anau Bird Sanctuary, a small facility that looks after old and injured New Zealand native birds and does some captive rearing for release work. Feeding time is at 9.30 am in the summer, and 10.30 am out of season and it is well worth a visit. My husband Paul is a skipper in Doubtful Sound and makes some great jewelry in his spare time. Thirteen year old daughter Iona spends her spare time playing guitar or in the garden. Moss the family dog takes his role as greeter to guests very seriously.
