Description

A delightful, safe Philly riverside neighborhood near excellent public transit and walking distance to recreational activities, restaurants, library. Hop on the train, and arrive at "The Cradle of Liberty" in 15 minutes.(phone number hidden).

East Falls is a delightful little neighborhood on the northwest side of Philadelphia just 10 minutes from Center City, Temple U. or University City. This convenient community has restaurants, coffee shops, recreational trails within reach. The bonus is the transit service which includes 2 train stations and 4 bus lines.

Double bed comfortable with 3 inch thick tempurpedic type topper, bureau, night table, ceiling fan, A/C, small space heater, clean bed clothes, towels, breakfast served for guests staying 2 - 6 nights. Guests staying 7 or more nights do not receive meals , but we can direct you to local restaurants or grocers.

Shared bathroom, full kitchen, washer/dryer 2nd floor, wireless internet, dvd movies.

We have two other rooms: Home Away From Home I and III.

I am available and sometimes take guests along for sightseeing or dining or cultural events. I do have a full time business with an office a few minutes from home .

The neighborhood is friendly, safe, convenient. The housing stock is diverse and interesting. We all love the river and recreational venues for running, walking, biking, sculling. Walk to everything-restaurants, theater, post office, library.

East Falls and Queen Lane train stations, bus routes R, 1, 61 K. 1 block to Kelly Dr. 2 blocks to Rte 1, 76 expressway.

My business is in the house, so guests are not free to wander around the entire house. Guests can sit in the living room or watch t.v. or sit on the side porch, front porch, or back yard, weather permitting.

I am available by phone or text for a quick response. Sometimes I will offer to take guests on little tours or to an ethnic, off the beaten track restaurant, gratis, or I can offer paid tours if guests request that. We always have a welcome drink on arrival if the guest would like to sit and chat a bit.

The neighborhood is safe and interesting with the Schuylkill River one block away and restaurants, library, small theater, Philadelphia U. campus, tracks, bike trail within a couple of blocks. Eastern U. Falls Campus is a few blocks away.

The train is across the street and there are several buses: Norristown train, R, 1, 61, K buses. Walkable neighborhood.

Fiorino's BYO is my favorite East Falls northern Italian restaurant. Tours are available by Roberta.

Full kitchen, dvd movies, wifi.

Guests can call, text , email or see me flitting around in the morning or evening. Check in time is somewhat flexible, but we must establish the check in time beforehand as I have a full time business and frequently have evening plans. Have a little glass of Lillet and a casual chat on arrival. We supply breakfast foods for guests who are staying between 2 and 6 nights. For longer stays, we do not supply breakfast.

The neighborhood is streaming with folks walking or running: Phila. U., parents with baby carriages, people walking their dogs, bikers, runners, rowers. The river is a lovely sight anytime day or night.

Yes- brimming with public transit within one block. We are two blocks from major highways: 76 expressway and Route 1 and King Dr. and one block from Kelly Dr. Public transit: Norristown, Center City train and buses 1, 61, K and R are within one block of the house. Bus 32 is four blocks from the house.

This is a very nice little neighborhood, much like small town USA. The community has many organizations including Town Watch, Friends of the Library, Community Council, Development Corp. So the people who live here are vested in maintaining a safe and vibrant community.

Shared large bathroom sectioned off so that one guest can be using the sink in one room while another guest is taking a shower in another section with a door. There is a full kitchen on the first floor.

The owner has a full time business and is frequently out in the evening. Interaction can be minimal, or we can have breakfast or dinner together or plan an outing.

The neighborhood is influenced by its proximity to the Schuylkill River. There are lots of activities and community committed involved neighbors. The places to run and walk are numerous. Public transit is superb. You can be in Center City or Old City 10 - 15 minutes by train or 15 - 20 minutes by public transit. You can walk to coffee shops or restaurants. This is a very convenient spot. Near Phila. U., Drexel Medical Queen Lane Campus, PCOM, Einstein, Temple.

Norristown train to Center City, 30th St. (Drexel U., University of Pennsylvania, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Children's Hospital) or Temple University, 5 - 6 blocks from Philadelphia University and Drexel Medical School. Less than 1 mile to PCOM. Buses #1, #61, K and R. 4 1/2 miles to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We have at least 7 restaurants within 4 blocks of the house. The supermarkets are within 1 mile. You can buy incidentals at Rite Aid which is 2 blocks away.

Excellent, excellent value! Especially for long-term guests. Roberta is an excellent host and her home is a cute little 1930s townhouse in East Falls, a short hop by rail, bus, or car to Center City. Safe street parking is readily available. Each room has independent AC, a space heater, and a mini-fridge. You also have access to a shared bathroom and kitchenette.

Roberta's home was a fantastic place to for a busy professional/student. The room was very clean on the first day, and Roberta made every effort to make you feel comfortable. She took me on a drive when I first arrived in East Falls to show me around the neighborhood and made me familiar with the local places to eat and explore. The location is near the Schuylkill River with a paved path for walking and biking into town. There was always free street parking nearby. There isn't a full kitchen, so flexibility is needed if you love to cook. It's a cozy place to come home to for someone who is on the go with work or school. Roberta was a gracious host, and she makes every effort to make guests feel comfortable in her home.

The room was great and Roberta was a super host. She left me breakfast (coffee, bread and fresh fruit) every morning and she gave me a detailed list of things to do and see and places to eat. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for being so welcoming!
