Located opposite a park in the fantastic inner west suburb of Petersham, our newly renovated 'workers cottage' combines historic charm with contemporary light filled spaces.
The historic cottage was built in 1882 and has been lovingly restored whilst the recent addition provides a quirky distinction from the usual Sydney extension.
The original cottage is comprised of a lounge room, 2 bedrooms and connecting hallway all featuring magnificently detailed ceilings. The lounge room has an flatscreen HDTV, comfortable sofa and a large collection of books and journals that guests are free to peruse during their stay. The first bedroom can be configured as a single, twin or queen room and stores an array of children’s toys and books. The second bedroom has a single bed and cot. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans.
The hallway then continues, taking you into the new section of the house. Firstly, a bathroom with deep tub and shower then on to the kitchen/dining/entertaining area - a beautiful open space with concrete floors and furnished with contemporary furniture.
The kitchen has stainless steel benchtops and European appliances. The pantry is stocked with essentials and all cooking equipment is provided. A locally sourced welcome hamper is left complimentary for visitors who stay two weeks or more.
The dining area includes extendable dining table (seats 4-10), 2 high chairs, record player/collection and stereo system with iPod connection.
The back façade fully opens to further extend this entertaining area with a gas barbecue, outdoor furniture and garden where you're free to pick seasonal vegetables and herbs. A cubby and sandbox sit behind the magnificent Gleditsia tree.
The third bedroom is located on the mezzanine level, furnished with a comfortable queen bed, wardrobe space, ceiling fan and ensuite bathroom with overhead shower.
