Antique chic but with brand new shower and loo in renovated town house overlooking Crescent, Opera House and parks. Adjacent parking, shops, bars, market place and restaurants within minutes' walk. In the very centre of beautiful vibrant Buxton and easy access to rail, bus and all the delights of the Peak District.
Our home is located right in the heart of town in an historic Georgian era town house built in the 1790s. It offers a very comfortable quiet bedroom with up to date shower room facilities where you can retire to rest after enjoying the very many attractions of Buxton and the surrounding contryside of the English Peak District.

Sue and I live in the house so one or other should always be available when guests would like to talk to us. However, the house is always large enough to give everyone private space when thats preferred.
We can offer visitors an optional continental breakfast for £5 per head but are conscious that there are very many alternatives available to them in the nearby coffee shops and cafes of town. Its your choice.
Our guests tend to be very similar to the way we would like to think of ourselves and behave in exactly the way they would behave when visiting anyone's home. They treat our possessions and household fabric with respect. Ifs its late and other people may be sleeping then naturally everyone in the house-ourselves included- will try and moderate any noise.
Sue and I have recently "retired" to Buxton but we actually spend about 3 months a year in France. We also intend to spend more time travelling further afield in the future. My previous career in public relations gave me a lot of opportunity to visit some marvelous places around the world but little time to enjoy them. So we're out to rebalance that whist developing a serious, but not overly so, interest in good wine.
That said, we both love the diversity to be found in the UK. Sue was born Scots and me Welsh. We walk a lot with Rufus, hence Buxton, who is nominally a labradoodle but in reality more of a surrogate grandchild. We enjoy theatre, good stand up and music , all to be easily found locally and proper beer. If Britain has one thing the rest of the world has yet to master its real ale - unique and cures all ills.
And we like to meet people, but wont talk your ears off . Its better to listen in life if you ever want to learn aynthing in my humble..
