The Beach!!

Siesta Beach is located on Beach Road on Siesta Key. Siesta Beach is known as one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the world. It is recognized as having the whitest and finest sand in the world. Unlike beaches elsewhere that are made up mostly of coral, Siesta Beach's sand is 99% quartz. Even on the hottest days, the sand is so reflective that it feels cool under foot. It's estimated that the sand on Siesta Beach is millions of years old, and started in the Appalachians and flowed down the rivers and was eventually deposited on the shores of Siesta Key.

Turtle Beach is located on Midnight Pass Road near the south end of Siesta Key. It features a large picnic shelter and is very popular for family outings.
In the center of the park is Blind Pass Lagoon which connects to Little Sarasota Bay. Free boat ramps allow easy access to and from the Bay.
Although the sand at Turtle Beach isn't as fine as it is farther up the key, it makes up the difference in privacy. Here you'll be able to walk for miles down the beach. Since the closing of Midnight Pass, you can walk all the way down Casey Key.

Palmer Point Beach begins at the southern tip of Siesta Key and continues onto the north end of Casey Key. The northern part of the beach was the former home of Mote Marine Laboratory. Since the closing of Midnight Pass in 1984, the beach allows uninterrupted walking all the way down Casey Key.

At beaches where lifeguards are on duty you'll find information on water conditions and temperatures. Be sure to pay attention to the flags flying and their color:

Green: All clear or good swimming conditions.

Yellow: Use caution for potentially high surf or dangerous currents and undertows.

One red flag means that the surf is high or there are dangerous currents, or both. Two red flags or a red flag with a swimmer symbol and white line through it indicate the water is closed to swimming, as conditions are too dangerous for even the strongest swimmers.

Purple: Hazardous Marine life

Inside you will see two FOB keys on a key ring. The FOBS are for the access gate to Siesta Key beach.
The beach is located across the street and down Windsong lane. It's a short walk away (approximately 3/10 of a mile)   Please feel free to use the association’s pool but note that towels are not allowed to be hung over the pool fence

There are restaurants and amenities both north and south of the location. If you exit the property and go south (left), pubs such as Captain Curt's, a local drug store and some shops are located one mile away. That area is called Crescent Beach (still a part of the larger Siesta Key Beach area). If you leave the property and head right (north), the Siesta Key village is 1.8 miles away with more shops, restaurants and amenities.

There are many things to do in Siesta Key. Here are some great suggestions:

Where to eat (in the Village) SKOB (Siesta Key Oyster Bar). Recommend the fish tacos. Live music. Located in the SK village.
Best brick oven pizza pasta - Flavios (across from SKOB). Great everything.
Best ice cream - Big Olaf is good and probably the most popular as it is on the strip but a hidden gem to the locals is Sub Zero.

Shopping:
Sunday mornings there is a small local little market held in the village. Soaps, veggies, home made crafts.
Other shopping:
University Town Center - Sarasota's newest (and largest) mall.
St. Armand's Circle - spend the day, walk around, go for lunch. Great experience.
Westfield Southgate - Costco, Sears, J.C. Penney etc. The usual stores on Hwy 41.
Also Ellerton Premium Outlet Mall - off Hwy 75, 30 minutes north of Sarasota.

Fun Stuff -
Siesta Key Bike & Kayak
For pedal & motor bikes, kayaks, scooters
Siesta Sports Rental
For pedal & motor bikes, kayaks, scooters, beach rentals
Bayfront Excursions -
Kayaking, boat rental & repair, paddle boarding, jet skis, fishing excursions.
Seaclub 2 has a heated pool and a dock for relaxing or fishing if you choose. Please enjoy them both if you wish.
