Overlooking the Caribbean Sea!

"Windstar" is situated on the North West side of the Island spanning 180 acres of country side with panoramic views of the famous west coast.
The spacious 1,560 square feet (145 square meter) 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa enjoys an elevated position above the west coast of Barbados on the Vuemont lifestyle estate. Guests of "Windstar" enjoy breath-taking views of the Caribbean Sea, lush gardens and rolling landscapes of the surrounding St Peter district. The 300 square feet (28m square meter) private patio is brushed by cooling breezes and is accessed from the living area and master bedroom.

"Windstar" is furnished to the highest quality with personal touches and artwork, providing a Caribbean island feel throughout. The open-plan, fully equipped, spacious kitchen links through to the dining and living areas, patio and garden.
On warm days cool tiling throughout complements the natural breeze.

"Windstar"is spacious and stylish, and because of it's elevated location enjoys cooling breezes that caress the patio and villa much of the year. The privacy, excellent facilities and landscaping, amenities, services and security at Vuemont help to make this a wonderful home location.

Windstar is a short stroll to the estate's infinity pool, gym and tennis courts. You enjoy uninterrupted views across one of Barbados' famous gullys (dry streams) and the cane fields to All Saints Church in one direction, and the Caribbean sea in another.

With all this, we are just 25 minutes from the capital Bridgetown, still closer to west coast beaches, and to the many island attractions. With so many roads, you can easily access all parts of Barbados.

A car is recommended to explore the island.
On the West Coast of Barbados, coral shore beaches of fine white sand stretch along a blue-green sea. Coral reefs fringe the Barbados shoreline to provide excellent snorkeling and Scuba Diving. Along the East Coast a lively surf is blown briskly by the strong and constant trade winds and the waves pound against a wild beach and rocky shore. The constant breeze of the trade winds give Barbados a mild and pleasant tropical climate. When you visit Barbados, you will see it is mostly a flat coral island with excellent beaches, but there are rolling hills and many deep ridges and gullies, with an interesting distribution of flora and fauna. Within the Barbados coral core there is a vast array of caves and underground lakes which provide an excellent supply of drinking water that is amongst the purest in the world. Geologically Barbados is unique, being actually two land masses that merged together over the years. This and other anomalies make this Caribbean Island quite phenomenal, and there are geological structures that you will find only in Barbados

You can be assured of a friendly greeting when you arrive at the property and you'll be given the keys and properly familiarized with the house, its facilities and the local environment so you can settle in with the minimum of fuss.

The St Peter Parish region

British sailors who landed on Barbados in the 1620s at the site of present-day Holetown on the west coast found the island uninhabited. As elsewhere in the eastern Caribbean Arawak Indians may have been annihilated by invading Caribs who are believed to have subsequently abandoned the Island. From the arrival of the first British settlers in 1627-28 until independence in 1966, Barbados was under uninterupted British control. Nevertheless Barbados always enjoyed a large measure of local autonomy. Its house of Assembly which began meeting in 1639 is the third oldest legislative body in the Western Hemisphere preceded only by Bermuda's legislature and the Virginia House of Burgesses. As the sugar industry developed into the main commercial enterprise, Barbados was divided into large plantation estates which replaced the small holdings of the early British settlers. Some of the displaced farmers relocated to British Colonies in North America. In order to work the plantations, slaves were brought from Africa; the slave trade ceased a few years before the abolition of slavery throughout the British Empire in 1834. The Vuemont development on Mount Brevitor was previously a sugar plantation. The Island is divided into 11 parishes and the city of Bridgetown for administrative purposes. There is no local government. Vuemont Villa has a constant temperature range with a welcome cooling breeze.

Speightstown, a few minutes drive away, is a charming, unspoilt town, with a selection of shops and restaurants, a fish market and PADI dive school. Vuemont, formally named The Lakes, is ideally situated with easy access to both the East and West coasts. If you are after picture postcard sandy beaches and calm azure sea the West coast offers numerous options which include Port St Charles, Mullins and further south Sandy Lane at Holetown area. If you prefer your coasts rugged, deserted and windswept, go east for a short drive to the Atlantic coast where dramatic breakers pound the deserted shore around Bathsheba. There are numerous tourist attractions within easy reach, including St Nicholas Abbey, Barbados Wildlife Reserve, Farley Hill Estate, Butterfly Flower, Harrison Cave. World class dining is available throughout the Island many good restaurants along the West coast. There are several golf courses nearby, green fees are expensive. Racing in Bridgetown, Polo at Apes Hill.

There are local buses at the bottom of the road and an abundance of taxi's to choose from. Alternatively, you can hire a car to explore the island.

Vuemont Barbados is located on the highly desirable West Coast in the Parish of St Peter. The facilities include a clubhouse with catering facilities, a lap pool, jacuzzi, gym, floodlit tennis courts with free racket and ball hire and resident pro, picnic areas and split level swimming pools.
There is also round-the-clock security for your peace of mind.

Cooling: Barbados is a Tropical Island blessed with easterly trade winds. In your villa you can take advantage of this by having the doors and windows open while you are in. Do remember to latch the doors when open, as the wind can be quite strong at times and will blow them in.

There are air-conditioning units provided in each bedroom for your comfort. When using the units please do not set the temperature below 21 degrees C. In addition, when the unit is on pleaser ensure that the windows and doors in the room are closed, as the air conditioning will not work properly if they are open.

Please help save the planet and keep your costs down. Don't forget when leaving the property to turn the A/C units off. Fans are also provided to assist in keeping the house cool.

Electricity: There are electrical points located throughout the villa. Electricity in Barbados is 110V. Its supply is very reliable and rarely will the power go out. Electricity consumption has to be paid at the end of the stay (meter reading)

Garbage: Place your garbage in the large bins provided outside by the main road.

Hot water: IT IS REALLY HOT! The hot water provided is via an environmentally friendly solar water heater. The water is heated naturally through the day's sun and stored in a tank. Because of this the water can be quite hot at times, when taking a shower test the water for the right temperature before going under.

Laundry: During your stay you may wish to do some laundry, there is a washer provided for your convenience.

Toilets: The toilets onsite can handle most things; however, we ask that you do not dispose of sanitary napkins, baby nappies, and large paper towels in the toilet. These items will clog the drains and we ask that you dispose of them in bins provided.
