Troy's diversity and friendliness makes friends out of strangers is a relatively short time. The city is walkable and the area is rich with outdoor activities only minutes, or an hour away. On the Hudson River and surrounded by lakes and mountains the region is full of natural beauty. Our architecture is stunning and we have more Tiffany windows than you'll find anywhere else. In addition, we have a lively art scene and a passion for history and historic preservation. Our City is continually rediscovering itself.

The apartment is quiet, private, fully furnished and self-contained in Troy's lovely 5th Avenue Historic District. Leaded glass and stained glass windows add historic architectural detail.. The new laundry facilities are exclusive for guest use.
Guests are welcome to share our grill and garden area. Private entrance.
Everything is provided for a comfortable stay. Occupancy is limited to registered guests only. Off-street parking nearly always available for one car.

One of the advantages of an extended stay is the opportunity to make new friends with those who are from far away (or not so.) In the warmer months we invite our guests to use the grill and garden area along with us. We will share information about Troy and the area to whatever degree our guests are interested. We will respect their privacy and with a private entrance it is mostly their choice how much we interact. We are on-sight most of the time. Of course, we're always happy to help our guests and to answer questions.

Troy's architecture and its history attracts the most diverse and interesting people. At first we were attracted by the opportunity to own and preserve for another century one of Troy's most beautiful brownstone houses. The Italianate plaster molding is more beautiful to us than owning a Picasso or Monet. Our neighborhood has been designated as a NYS historic district that is called Historic 5th Avenue. It and the Washington Park area have led the way for neighborhood revitalilzation and restoration all around Troy. In addition, Troy has a vibrant early American history and was key to America's industrialization. Architecture and History buffs will love Troy.

Troy is extremely walkable with restaurants, a delightful wine bar, shops, RPI and Russell Sage and everything close by. In addition, there is an excellent public transportation system that will take one around Troy and the entire Capital Region conveniently. A bus stop is a block away. Albany (ALB) International Airport and Amtrac trains are only 15 minutes away.

We invite guests who appreciate the friendly, respectful and quiet atmosphere of our historic neighborhood.
The cleaning fee is reduced or refunded to guests who neatly maintain and leave their apartment clean.
