Wake up on a working farm nestled in a Cincinnati neighborhood where you can collect your own eggs, feed the chickens and drink coffee in the barn while watching Spike the alpaca keep the barnyard peace. Use our peaceful room to curl up with a book, write or rest. But leave time to explore the Queen City: we boast world class food, Zoo, a premier symphony, ballet or musical, as well as a pub crawl through Over the Rhine. In only 20 minutes you could be riding the street car through downtown.

Le logement
A beautiful, large, peaceful room on the second floor of a large and cozy farmhouse. This room has a large closet, dresser and cozy reading chair. The large corner windows offer a great view of the garden, cultivated by our Bhutanese neighbors, as well as the barns, where you're sure to see a chicken crossing the driveway. We love sleeping with the windows open and waking to birdsong. The farmhouse kitchen boasts a 6x7 island, double oven, copper sinks and is fully stocked with dishes and cooking tools. If you love to cook, you have full access to a beautiful space to create and play. The leathered granite counters and slate backsplash create warmth and beauty. Across the room, curl up in cozy leather sofa, read a book or witness the grace of our Bhutanese farmers tending their garden.

The hall bath features a vanity made from barnwood, sunflowers from our garden and a full bathtub.

Accès des voyageurs
You will have access to the whole farm. We have chickens, alpacas, ducks, Guinea hens and a dog. You will love meeting our Bhutanese farmers who live in the neighborhood and tend the garden. Settle in around an evening campfire and watch the sunset over the barn. Deeper Roots Coffee Roastery is located on the farm. They stay busy with the tasks of running a growing coffee company but always have time to talk about beans! If you visit on a Tuesday - you can schedule a coffee cupping and education. Depending on when you visit, we may have farm dinners scheduled, or the monthly drum circle. The drum circle is open to everyone. If you're interested in the farm dinner or breakfast ask us about making a reservation.

Autres remarques
During the day - there are people and vehicles coming and going from the farm. While there is hustle and bustle, its not noisy. The evenings are quiet and peaceful, and the sunset over the barn is amazing! Tikkun Farm is also home to a non-profit that intends to be a place of healing, restoration and repair cultivated through meaningful work and spiritual practices. We have been in the process of slowly repairing the buildings and inviting people to come and live in community on the Farm. We host retreats, workshops, community meals, summer camp for neighborhood youth, an after school cooking program, and spiritual direction. We long for Tikkun Farm to offer many kinds of healing and repair. We hope a person who finds shelter here may come to know the truth that they are Beloved. One of the gifts of coming to Tikkun Farm is the opportunity to sign up for unique experiences. Would you like to learn more about fiber arts and needle felting? Or participate in an ethnic cooking class less led by our Bhutanese farmers? Sign up for a service project on the farm? We can incorporate these experiences into your stay. Mention your interest in arranging an experience when you make an inquiry. Depending on when you visit, you might meet neighborhood children coming to the farm house for a cooking lesson, our Bhutanese neighbors putzing in the garden or Mary leading a coaching session in the barn. Mt. Healthy is a walkable neighborhood in central greater Cincinnati. It’s a town with rich soil for gardening, a sense of history, big trees, quiet alleys for kids to play safely, for bike riding and dog walking. The main road through town has historical significance as a major route for the Underground Railroad, and was known as Freedom Way. We are a municipality of about 6,000 residents, with local safety and services, a City Hall that is easy to access, and about 1.4 square miles. We boast a local bakery, micro brewery, old time diner, a Bar-B-Q establishment folks come to from all over the city and a glass studio with it's own maker's space for folks who want to make their own stained glass. Hamilton County is known for it's great parks and Winton Woods, a five minute drive from our farm, includes walks through the woods as well as paved trails.

The Rev. Mary Laymon Mary has been pastoring for 20 years.. Her passion is helping people of all ages hear the voice of the holy within them so that they may experience the healing power of Love. Mary leads retreats and pilgrimages, offers Spiritual Direction and helps execute the vision for their non-profit Farm in Cincinnati, Tikkun Farm. If you’re looking for a farm getaway, complete with farm breakfast, alpaca petting and chickens, check out our Air BnB in Cincinnati! Mary’s favorite sacred places include the island of Iona off the coast of Scotland, the Celtic monastic ruin, Skellig Michael on an island off the coast of Ireland, and Assateague, the barrier island off the coast of Maryland where she’s been camping with her family every summer since she was five years old. She married Greg York 4 years ago in Ireland and is the mother of 18 year old John – musician, writer and college freshman. Mary enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, camping and hiking out in God’s “Big Book” – the Celtic way of speaking about creation. But she really loves helping others hear the quiet and persistent voice of God speaking love to us. Greg York After a 25 year career at Procter & Gamble, Greg retired from corporate life and began creating another kind of life – centered around restoration and repurposing. Greg repurposes his skills as a manager and strategic planner mentoring young entrepreneurs and supporting the growth of Center City Collision’s “body shop Abbey” a place where cars as well as auto body workers experience healing & restoration. Through his capacity to see beauty where others see ruin he creates spaces for community living in the homes he’s wonderfully restored. Rather than invest in stocks, he invests in neighborhoods, restoring a “third place” cafe in an impoverished community where urban farmers make a living from their garden feeding their neighbors. Greg restored this little lake house and it reflects his craftsmanship for creating beautiful spaces. But Greg’s greatest restoration project has been inspired by his childhood playgrounds: the land his grandparents farmed and the acres of woods around his family home. From the moment his retirement began, Greg began looking for a farm that would not only feed bodies, but souls. When Greg first laid eyes on Tikkun Farm he saw beyond the broken barns and gutted farmhouse to the healing community that would flourish in buildings beautifully restored. Through farming practices that heal the land, Greg knew that growing food would restore the souls of those planting and harvesting. And from found objects on the farm and old wood from the barn, Greg regularly creates beauty by repurposing the items as furniture and jewelry.
