We are at the foot of beautiful Cowles Mountain, close to restaurants, hikes, farmers' markets, and neighborhood coffee shops. Public transportation is nearby and San Diego is newly part of the Lyft and Sidecar community. We have two dogs & a pool.
Greetings from La Mesa, California! A suburb of San Diego surrounded by farmer's markets, hiking and biking trails, and of course no more than 15-20 minutes from the ocean. We have our own small down town with cafes, restaurants, and bars, but we're also 10 minutes from some of the best bar/restaurant scenes in San Diego in North/South Park, Balboa, Hillcrest, and the Gaslamp. We also know a lot about the area and are happy to share and direct you to places and experiences you might be more specifically interested in.
Our house is traditional South West in style, with a brick fireplace for chillier desert nights and with warm, earth toned walls and furniture. There are two bathrooms on the ground floor, with one set aside for guest use. It is a 3/4 bathroom, with shower, sink, and toilet. The kitchen, living room, and dining room also share ground floor space. We love our guests to use the kitchen (respectfully) and we also have a 3-2-2 refrigerator for guest use as well. If a guest would like to use any of our available dining places, we're happy to discuss and share. All of this is included in the cost of the room.
We have two dogs, a Terrier mix and American Bull dog, both of whom are certifiably playful and adorable, though definitely on the big side. They're not your average lap dog.
The bedroom you would be staying in has a chest of drawers, twin size bed, night stand, sunlight, and lockable door. It is located two steps from the kitchen and from the dining room.
Just outside in the backyard we have a pool, sun chairs, and dining table to enjoy meals under the stars.
The neighborhood is quiet, and in fact is 4 blocks from the base of Cowles Mountain, a local favorite for a morning or evening hike. We are in walking distance of sushi, Thai, Mexican, American, Starbucks, and a myriad of other cafes and restaurants. While public transportation is limited, there are two excellent ride share programs active in San Diego - Lyft and Sidecar. These services tend to be less expensive than cabs and much more friendly and comfortable. There is a trolley service, but it is something to try more for the experience than as a means of transportation.
Accès des voyageurs
You are welcome to use the pool, stove, microwave, kitchen utensils and cookware, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, downstairs hall bathroom, and of course our outdoor grill and refrigerator. We usually have a little space in our regular fridge, but the one outside can be for you to take over.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
As little or as much as guests prefer. We are busy people, so mostly we are home for meals and evenings. I work from home 3-4 days of the week, so we will bump into each other.
We have two big dogs.
We'll launder sheets, before and after. Be respectful of our space and we'll be that much happier to share our space with you!
If you would like to use the kitchen, dishes get done quickly, pots and pans are yours to use, and you provide the food. When you leave, please just pile your sheets and towels in a corner and we'll take care of the rest :)
