The Byre is a contemporary three -bedroom countryside holiday cottage, ideally located on the edge of the charming village of Goodleigh, near Barnstaple in North Devon. This family and dog friendly North Devon holiday home has been lovingly converted from a 19th century barn. The barn includes, a lounge with two large sofas, a slate coffee table and TV plus DVD, a spacious dining area with a large pine table and chairs plus a book-case with games and a music system, patio-doors which open onto the garden. There is a fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker and hob, a large fridge-freezer, dish-washer, washer-dryer, microwave, and toaster. There are three bedrooms, a king-size oak framed double with en-suite bathroom with bath and shower attachment, sink and wc, a twin, with two pine single beds and a bunk room with adult size beds. The twin and bunk are serviced by a family bathroom, with shower, sink and wc.
Outside The Byre has a lovely garden with pine table and chairs and at the far end is a pretty fish pond with pond plants and fish. To the side of this is another smaller garden with a brick BBQ and table and benches, both the pond and the small garden are securely fenced in.
The Byre is set on the edge of the popular North Devon village of Goodleigh with a very good pub serving great food and a selection of local beers, dogs are welcome. There are plenty of walks from the cottage along country lanes.
Only just a 20 minute drive from the North Devon coast and its superb golden sands and excellent surf at Saunton Sands, Putsborough and Woolacombe beaches. Also 20 minutes away from Exmoor National Park, so you can walk freely with your dog for hundreds of miles.The main town of the area, Barnstaple is only 3 miles away and has loads of great shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a multi-screen cinema, indoor bowling alley and an indoor tennis centre with 6 indoor courts. The lively surfing towns and villages of Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde are less than 30 minutes away and provide great places to eat and drink and things to see and do, like Verity at Ilfracombe harbour towering 25m into the sky. There is also plenty of places for the kids to visit, like Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Exmoor Zoo and The Big Sheep, all great for a day out.
