The Cracker Shack is like living in old Florida but in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. Totally renovated and charmingly furnished. Six children grew up in this cottage house when their father brought them to Fort Lauderdale from Ohio before 1910. At the time The Florida Fruits Lands Company was selling farms in Florida for very little, and in the deal you got a town lot. That is how they bought this lot. Turned out the "farms" were under water, in the Everglades, but thousands of mid westerners bought into the Florida Dream. Experience Florida Cracker living with modern conveniences.
This is probably the oldest house in Fort Lauderdale and one of the smallest. Built in 1910 and recently totally remodeled and landscaped. I live nearby but unless there is an emergency there is no need for interaction. In other words, enjoy your time. I am available via text and email always.
I have had guests at times with a dog or cat. If you are hyper-allergic, there will be no cancelations after check in for pet allergies.
This is a very old historic house with furnishings of personal value to me. I expect it to be treated with care and any damaged or missing things will be charged to you.
Note: There is not a separate bedroom, the bed is in an alcove with canvas curtains that close it off. I said it is a one bedroom because it is so much more than a studio. The pictures describe it well!
There have been dos and cats in the space. While it is very clean, if you are hyper sensitive to pet allergy there will be no cancelations after check in.
Fort Lauderdale native professional normal nice guy. I own a real estate company in Fort Lauderdale. I have a boat, like to cook, travel, hike, walk, read. Not a TV fan. I enjoy meeting people. I go to bed early and get up early, and am quiet and live in a quiet place.
