This UNIQUE Cozy Fully Furnished apartment is in an entirely restored 18th Century MANSION. With a PERFECT LOCATION, Casa Borda is 20 meters off famous pedestrian Madero Street in the middle of the Historic Center of Mexico City Between the Zocalo and Bellas Artes. You’ll find yourself in a high security building walking distance to most of the sights this iconic city has to offer. DUPLEX and BALCONY apartment with the full excitement of enjoying the view and spectacle of the street while enjoying the comfort and security of Casa Borda.

Why legendary Balcony? Because the apartment gives to the balcony that went around the block and was designed specially to enable the Wife and Daughters of Mr Borda to walk without mixing with the "people" on the street the legend says. Yes, you ll be able to see the Turibus from the Balcony talk about the house and the legend and yes you should be aware that noise from the street can be expected, not the ideal for very light sleepers.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

I work around the neighborhood. I do like to interact with guests but have a clear understanding of privacy. I usually check in guests and sometimes greet goodbye. I am always available through the system or by phone on short notice.

Le quartier

The Centro Historico is up and running, though vibrant it is statistically the safest neighbourhood in the City, its is named after its historical position and its colonial period buildings and monuments, like the main plaza Zocalo, the Templo Mayor pyramids, the Murals, the Torre Latinoamericana, and some of Mexico’s finest historic and contemporary museums. Clean and safe, close to grocery stores and great places to eat out, like the gourmet market of San Juan, traditional Mexican and International restaurants and taquerias/cantinas, all budgets. Enjoy a morning run or night walk in the recently restored Alameda park.

Transports

Two blocks away to major transportation systems like the Metrobus and the Subway to move around the city to the airport, bus stations and other neighbouring colonias such as Condesa, Roma, Polanco and Coyoacan.
From the airport: I recommend a Taxi (20USD and 40 min) an alternative is public transit, Metrobus, stop Bellas Artes then 5 min walk (4USD per person and 35 min), which is clean, fast and new.
To Condesa and Roma Metrobus or taxi: 25 minute ride there and vice versa.
To Coyoacan and Bus terminals: Subway different direct lines.
To Reforma (financial district): 20 minute walk by the Alameda park and up and down the avenue with the bus or subway.
Teotihuacan pyramids: Direct Tramway to bus station and then bus to the pyramids or through a tour operator.

Our stay in Juan Carlos' apartment was the most positive part of our stay in Mexico City. We had the unfortunate but very real experience of getting robbed at gun point on our way from the airport to our lodging. We highly recommend everyone use Uber and not any taxi service of any kind- including "authorized" ones. I was able to quickly send Juan Carlos a message explaining what occurred and get a contact number from him. Though I finally was able to call 3 hours later than expected check-in time and very late at night, Juan Carlos was extremely empathetic and felt so bad this had happened to us. He had someone waiting outside for us to check us in. Victor was so nice and had already heard what happened and even offered to get us some beers from the corner store below. Walking through the large secure wooden door into this building felt like a safe oasis for us after such a traumatic experience. This place is as gorgeous as the photos if not more. It feels cool in the courtyard whereas its so hot out on the street

This artistic loft has a great location in the center area. The building itself is a historical one. It also has two bathrooms which is perfect for 3-4 people. Recommend!
