Casa al Mare is a newly renovated three-level modern residence in the exclusive neighborhood of Sea Cliff that is the perfect place for a day retreat. Our city get-away will inspire you to dream bigger than you've dreamed before. Lands End & Baker Beach are perfect for an early morning stroll or middle-of-the-day break. All three levels offer one-of-a-kind views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The top floor offers a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands and the city of San Francisco.
Rugged Elegance founders, Jennifer King & Timothy Fredel have a great reason for sharing their world-class experience: to generate greater awareness and funds for the philanthropies that they are most passionate. 10% of the cost of your stay will go toward one of the dozens of philanthropies that the Rugged Elegance Foundation supports.
Casa al Mare is a dream SAME DAY (no overnight) retreat:
• kitchen, living room and dining room with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge - (2nd floor)
• dining room table for six
• guest room - if one of the people on your team needs a nap (3rd floor)
• study with a view of Land’s End - (3rd floor)
• outdoor deck with two chaise lounges and gas fire pit - (4th floor)
• coffee bar with small dishwasher and two refrigerator drawers - (4th floor)
Newly Renovated Home - Inside & Out
Originally designed by international award-winning architect, Joseph Esherick, Casa al Mare is newly renovated, top-to-bottom by architectural designer extraordinaire, Stephen Barlow and co-owner, Jennifer Carolyn King.
Perhaps you've heard of Sea Ranch just north of San Francisco? Joseph Esherick was responsible for designing Sea Ranch and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. You do not need to drive hours north of the city to get to a retreat.
Casa al Mare is your Sea Ranch in the City!
Meticulous effort has gone into honoring Esherick's original design while updating every inch of the home, inside and out. Stephen Barlow was the lead architect on Casa al Mare. Mr. Barlow worked for fifteen years as the lead architect for world-renowned interior designer, John Saladino. This is Jennifer and Stephen's second creation together. (The first is an Africa-inspired home in Kennebunkport, Maine called Asante Sana - also available on Airbnb.)
