Private master bedroom in spacious, turn-of-the-century gem of a duplex, with original woodwork, high ceilings and free parking, close to light rails, Nice Ride bikes, U of Minnesota, Augsburg College, and much eclectic food, arts and music.

Le logement

Private bedroom in a beautiful, light-filled rehabbed duplex with comfortable queen-size four-poster bed, credenza, and lovely original artwork on the walls. Our cozy, spacious family home, built by Norwegian immigrants over 100 years ago, is at the hub of public transportation, education and healing (two colleges, many hospitals, a vibrant arts community), bike trails and the great Mississippi. Come enjoy Minneapolis from this creative heart of the city; we're homey and folksy yet within 20 minutes (by various modes of public transportation) of the city center.

Accès des voyageurs

In addition to the comforts of the private master bedroom, guests have access to high-speed wireless internet, and may make coffee, tea or toast in the shared kitchenette (with toaster, electric teakettle, blender and coffee grinder), the large bathroom (shared with up to two) with a shower and claw foot tub, and access to a big study table and meditation room with piano (play softly please), luxurious rugs and cozy throw pillows. Guest may park in the guest parking spots directly in front of Heidihouse. This place is a well-loved century-old domestic gem at the hub of a great city.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

The homeowner/host is a friendly introvert, thus practices the golden rule, and gives guests as much privacy as possible, but she is happy to help with information and directions to unique, delicious nearby eating establishments. The three cats live on other floors and are not allowed in the Airbnb, so you won't likely see the sweet felines.

Autres remarques

Enjoy the original artworks on the walls, created by the homeowner and her artist daughter. If you have time in your busy schedule, arrange to sit for a two-hour sitting, and have your portrait painted by Heidi. She keeps the original, you take a digital photo and are immortalized!

Very good location on West End, just across the street from Augsburg University. Heidi keeps in contact quickly & thoroughly. She offered superb directions and expectations. While I didn't have a chance to meet her, the artwork all around the house brought her presence delightfully! Quiet house, very comfortable bed, great local...I'll be back!

A wonderful, quiet and artistic house - Heidi leaves little touches that go the extra mile to make you feel so at home. Super close to Augsburg campus and a quick walk from the Blue Line.

Wow! I've never been somewhere with such lovely personal touches. Heidi was there to greet me when I arrived, and even had a 'welcome Meredith' note when I walked in. Her house is lovely and fully stocked with coffee and tea to indulge in. The location is convenient to get around the rest of Minneapolis and I felt like I was coming back to my own home every night when I returned. Seriously above and beyond and would definitely stay again!

Heidi's place is peaceful and cosy, and well located for the University of Minnesota, where I was working during my stay. Heidi was great at communicating everything I needed to know, and provides a welcoming environment, including some breakfast materials, which was really helpful!

Artist, handy-woman, budding gardener, practicing yoga & sometimes jogging! We at Heidihouse use art as a tool for healing, & if you come in season you'll find me out digging in the yard to bring the fruits of my farming ancestors to the city.
