A favorite room for many over time, this lovely room really does seem to warmly embrace you when you enter. It's cozy enough without being teeny & gracious enough without being stuffy. It has a nice bright private bathroom with a very good shower & tub and a gas fireplace to keep cozy on cold winter month nights.
This Historic Queen Anne Victorian has original lacework & wraparound porch has 4 footprints dating back to 1839 and has been lovingly and tastefully added onto by each of the former residents preserving it's Landmark status. The woodworking is remarkable and the wood is rare and beautiful ~ including clear chestnut, blistered poplar, black walnut, cherry, white oak and heartpine ~ gracing walls, floors, ceilings, 6 fireplaces, stairs & rails. And it's for sale, too! Inquire within.

Your schedule will be your own while staying here. We value your privacy and also ours! :) We'll most likely be here to greet you while you check in and show you around. We assume that you'll have your trip planned, but if it's wide open, we'll be happy to give you some suggestions of places to visit and see while your here ~ it all depends on you! Art galleries? Hiking? Driving? Sightseeing? Shopping? Fishing? Art Galleries? White Water Rafting? Lazy River tubing? Ziplining? Nightlife? Entertainment? Good Eateries? Golfing or even Skiing!
Let us know what it is you like to do and we'll do our best to guide you to the right place to find that ~ a concierge of sorts. Check out the ever expanding guidebook I've created for you.
These mountains are home to many productive Artists & twice a year, many of them open up their studios to the public ~ Locally, it's the TRAC Studio Tour of which I participate in & join a neighboring studio about 5 minutes from the house. It's always fun visiting the artists private space when their expecting you! Great to see the 'behind the scenes' of many of the pieces you might see in the local galleries. Great people, very good art, in a really beautiful area!
We ask for a minimum 2 night stay on weekends but are flexible during the week.
New Rules! ;~) But seriously folks ~ please abide by the following:
#1 This is a non-smoking household. We understand the desire to puff, but please ~ No smoking inside! We do, however have an ashtray on the covered wraparound porch in front ~ please use it if you do. Thank You!
#2 We have a sweet and spunky long haired Jack Russell named Rascal... He loves to run like the wind, so PLEASE don't let him out :) He has his own yard to run around in that's a lot more safe. Sorry that your dog is not allowed to come & play with him. It might be fine, but we just don't want to chance any accidents, so that's why the 'No Pets' rule here.
#3 Never leave the gas fireplaces or space heaters on when you leave the room or overnight! The gas fireplaces are pretty much for ambience only… They are vented as per code so the heat goes right out the chimney… It might take the chill off the room and look nice but it would be very expensive to run it the whole time you're there. I ask that you please limit your use to a half an hour before you go to sleep and a half an hour when you wake up. Otherwise, it would not only cost more than your stay in energy bills, but be dangerous for everybody in the house. I know the rooms can get a bit chilly at night, but there are plenty of blankets and high grade insulating curtains to minimize the chill. You can feel free to let me know when you're coming home from your day out & I'll be happy to take the chill off the room for you & turn on the porch lights! The space heaters have a thermostat setting which is okay to turn down ~ maximum setting overnight should be no higher than medium. Best to cuddle up & let your body heat do the job :)
Please turn off ALL appliances when you leave the room ~ A/C unit, fans, lights, etc. It's super inefficient and costly to do that. I prefer the warm light of incandescent lighting ~ but in the warmer months it is unfortunately not only warm to look at but it also will contribute to heating the room. Also, the roof is metal and the porch roof is right under your window. Closing the curtains and turning the lights off will definitely keep your room cooler. Let me know when you're on your way home and if here, I will be happy to turn your AC on. It only takes a few minutes to cool the room.
#4 Enjoy Your Stay!!!
#5 I know you want us to remember you, but I promise you, we will! You don't have to leave a piece of yourself behind. I'd say around 80% of guests leave *something* behind in the room. Take a second and even a third look around before you leave.
Happy trails to you!!! I hope we meet again ~~~
Love Always, Judy

Originally from Bucks County PA, I've lived in WNC since 2002 and a few other beautiful parts of the country before that; the mountains of Colorado, southern NJ near Cape May. I really enjoy B&B guests ~ certainly the most interesting and appreciative folks… so many great stories ~ I have old handmade paper journals filled with smile making memories, and now sweet reviews are filling up the pages of this virtual journal at Airbnb. :)
I'll be happy to help you with your plans while you're here. If you want, I'll share maps of the area & highlight things you might like ~ good hikes, vistas & waterfalls, drives, eateries, entertainment, art galleries/studios, etc.
