Le logement

A very well located entire one bedroom apartment with all services including internet, available at great value in a very safe neighborhood.

Situated very close to one of the most trendy and vibrant areas of Mexico City (Condesa / Roma/ Polanco) with excellent public transport facilities (metro, metrobus, public bikes service, touribus) available on the doorstep. 10 minutes to Chapultepec park and Polanco heart of business in Mexico City.

There is a typical local market, a park with a public library and lots of activities (yoga, music therapy, dancing, etc.) all one block from the flat. There is a supermarket (Soriana) 4 blocks and there are lots of convenience stores around the corner.

At night, you can cross the street and you'll be located in trendy Condesa which is famous for parks, art-deco architecture, restaurants, bars and night-life. There is an artisan beer bar/pub a few very close by, a local Cuban restaurant, good tacos places all around, Argentinian restaurant (excellent meat) and loads of "street food" vendors to experiment if you are little adventurous with your Spanish (or pointing!). Mexican street food is invariably cheap and excellent!

There is one double bed in the bedroom and 1 additional sofa-bed at the lounge. The bathroom is en-suite so although the apartment could accommodate 3 people, you would obviously need to be a family or friendly! :) Towels and bed clothes for your stay are included. The kitchen is basic but contains all the pans, cutlery, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, etc., that you would need to be fully self catering if you would like.

Some of the touristic attractions that are 30 minutes or less on public transport from the apartment:

Historical City Centre (downtown)
Typical Mexican Cantinas
Museum of Fine Art
National Museum of History
Chapultepec Park, Zoo and Lake
National Museum of Anthropology
Chapultepec's Castle
Museum of Modern Art
Museo de la Bola
Monument of Independence
Turibus (open top city tour bus)
San Angel and Coyoacan
The famous Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling)

************========NOTE: Currently, I am working with an indigenous community in the Mexican jungle and I need to cycle 30 km to the closest internet point and my phone calls are limited. I check my email every 3 days so PLEASE FORGIVE ME if it takes me 3 days (at the most) to go back to you. I appreciate your patience :D ===================+++++++++++++

Amazing host and amazing place!!!! Mj helped us in a tight spot needing to book a place after a terrible experience with a previous host. Her parents are so unimaginably sweet!!! They really watched out for us. We were staying there for the two terrible earthquakes that struck Mexico city amd Mj's dad rushed over to make sure we were okay. What an amazing family I just can't say enough. As for the place, it's such a perfect spot as it's quiet at night, but also a short walk or cab ride to restaurants, bars, etc. The apartment and kitchen are HUGE comparatively to other spots in DF. You won't regret this spot. Its awesome!!!!

MaryJo's place is exactly as advertised. It's a small apartment and it has all the necessary appliances. My partner and I stayed there for a month and we absolutely loved it. It is close to public transit, restaurants, cafes, a really nice park, a mercado, and a public library. It was so nice enjoying the neighborhood as soon as we stepped out the building. It was very easy to communicate with Mary Jo and her parents, who were the ones who checked us in and out (Mary Jo was not actually in the city). We had a small problem with the internet/cable and they fixed it right away. We also asked for a comal to heat up tortillas and, again, they brought it right away. It was nice, comfortable, safe, and convenient to stay at MaryJo's. We would love to stay there again in our next trip!

I lived in Maria's apartment for 3.5 months while I was studying abroad at business school in CDMX. Maria and her parents are incredible hosts, and this apartment was the perfect home base for me. The house has everything you need for a short or long stay, the location is perfect (close to the metro, cheap cab rides, central to great restaurants and bars, and next to a fantastic market for daily grocery needs). Maria's family went above and beyond in helping me adjust to life in the city by finding someone to help clean the apartment, offering to help me do my laundry, and regularly coming to the apartment at the drop of a hat if I had any issues (sometimes the water heater would shut off). I had a lovely stay here and will miss my home away from home.

Stayed a month in MaryJo's place - we were welcomed by her parents who were very helpful and MaryJo continued to be very responsive over (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). The apartment is well located and a short walk to Amsterdam and the heart of La Condesa - there are bike racks nearby as well. The space is small, suitable really only for 2 or a family of 3. The wide angle and bright images I felt were a little misleading - there is not much natural light in the front room (you need the light on most of the day). Although plenty in the bedroom. The decor was a bit dated with dark wood and red furnishings, space for our stuff was limited. The kitchen was also a bit dated. Great shower and a very comfy bed. Internet dropped out regularly. With a bit of sprucing up and decluttering this place could be great place to stay. #honestreviews

I had a great stay in MaryJo's apartment--it's located very close to Patriotismo metro and metrobús (purple line), so it's easy to get around from there. Conveniently, there's a woman selling chopped fruit and fresh orange juice in the mornings only a few doors down. The apartment also has an ample supply of drinking water, hot water for showers, and good wifi and cable tv. I was able to watch Netflix when I wanted some English programming. Potential downsides: The apartment is next door to a preschool so this can be noisy in the early mornings, the bed is bit firm, and it's located in the inner courtyard on the 2nd floor so there's no city or street view out of any of the windows. Another positive: When I arrived, MaryJo's parents helped me bring my bags up the stairs, explained everything, and had placed some fresh fruits and flowers in the apartment.
