Quaint cabin, all in one floor. The package includes details to make your visit special: a cheese tray with cheese and crackers, a bottle of wine, welcomes you; fresh flowers on table, all set up for your first meal, with real nice china, cloth napkins, your first breakfast of eggs, sausage, orange juice, bread, ready to be prepared by you, Keurig coffee; Keurig teas. Little luxuries of life, robes in master, water decanter, chocolate truffles, master bath with extremely soft, luxurious, Turkish bath sheets, wall hair dryer and magnifying make up mirror, etc...

There is a master with tub; the other bathroom has a shower.

Second bedroom has twin beds which can be converted to king, notify host prior to arrival.

The sofa is a sofa bed and sleeps 2 additional people.

The kitchen, dining area, washer/dryer closet and living room with sofa-bed, are all in one open area.

The downstairs consist ONLY of a large deck and an a utility room (locked) . It has plenty of outdoor furniture, including outdoor tables, chairs and very comfortable chaise chairs..

The kitchen is completely equipped including granite countertop, dishes, pots and pans, some condiments, Keurig coffee maker, blender, toaster, dishwasher, wok, food processor, etc...

There is a wrap-around deck upstairs with table and chairs as well as two chaise chairs on the lower deck and two tables and 8 chairs. Two more chaise chairs by fire pit.

There is a Weber grill (utensils and charcoal provided), moveable fire pit (fire wood provided) for your S'mores.

You are close (Blue Ridge) to one of only 2 drive in movies in Georgia!

Go apple or peach picking (seasonal)

Re-live your past.

There are many amenities in the gated community, lake, fishing, swimming pools (seasonal, Memorial Day-Labor Day), hiking trail, fitness room, playground, pavilions, tennis courts, basketball courts. There are some equipment provided: two fishing poles, 4 tubes, basketball and two tennis rackets for your use. There are also games, puzzles and toys.

Although the cabin has basic Satellite, there are plenty of DVD to watch as well as books/magazines to read. There is internet/Wi fi (sometimes iffy) but there is no telephone land line. Cell phones normally have signal; Verizon and T Mobile are iffy.

Carters Lake is the deepest lake in Georgia and it has lake swimming, hiking, pontoon rental, marina, fishing, park and a snack bar. It is across the resort, $5 car fee to enter the recreational facilities but to enter the snack bar (seasonal) at the Marina and/or Visitors Center is free. From the Visitors Center you can see a panoramic view of the lake and also there is a great view from the snack bar.

Ft. Mountain is another great place for hiking, horseback riding, fishing , boat rental as well as kayaks, stand up pedal boards, pedal boats, etc...

The Coosawatee River offers (seasonal) canoe, tubing as well as kayaks for rent and free shuttle back. This area is close to the cabin.

There are also other places within a couple of hours to go white water rafting (Copperhill, TN)

Blue Ridge in addition to being a nice mountain town has several outfitter companies with fascinating adventures such as white water rafting, canoeing, tubing, etc...

Chattanooga makes a nice afternoon or day trip, not too far and they have a great aquarium, walking paths along the river and many other attractions.

Blue Ridge is very nice with a daily tourist day train to Tennessee around the Toccoa River and it is a great small mountain town with many places to shop, galleries, eat, sightsee and festivals/activities. GREAT walking town.

Ellijay has most of the amenities of a town, such as Wal-Mart, Lowes, large grocery stores, steak and pancake houses, Coffee house w/wifi, fast food places, as well as Mexican, Italian, BBQ and buffet restaurants. Also places with zip lines to go above the trees, kayaking, tubing, horseback riding, apple/peach picking (seasonal) and plenty of "Apple Houses" including "Panorama", a great store to buy cider, apples, peaches, gourmet food products, store-made ice creams (try their peach ice cream!!), fresh fried fruit pies, vegetables, etc... GREAT walking town around the square with plenty of small restaurants. It also has the closest Catholic Church to the cabin, Good Samaritan, one block off the square. Take Rte. 52 to visits orchards.

There are also some farms selling vegetables.

One of the largest waterfalls around, Amicalola Falls, is close by as well as Dahnolega with the best wineries in Georgia.

Jasper is also very close with same amenities as Ellijay with several festivals, farmers' markets and fun farms.. Very good restaurants; such as the Woodbridge Inn (great lunch place, a German bed and breakfast), Catch of the Day (seafood), 61 Main (upscale) and several others as well as franchises: Fatz (my favorite place for Fried Green Tomatoes), Zaxby, Bojangles, DQ, BBQ, Chinese and Mexican restaurants.

On the way to the cabin (Rte. 575, exit 9) you can stop at a premium outlet mall.

On Rte 136 /400 there is also Prime Outlets with outlets for William Sonoma, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, etc... On exit 7 of Rte. 400 there are outlets for Frontgate, Ballards and Grandirod with great prices.

There are also two excellent museums in Cartersville, the Booth Western Museum (best western museum) and a science museum.

I will welcome you to the cabin and will be available as much as you need me.

The cabin is located at a bottom of a hill in a wooded area but it has view of the mountains. Although there are no groceries stores (only gas station convenience store) within 15 miles, there are national grocery stores in Jasper, Chatsworth, Ellijay and an IGA (in Fairmont).

There is no public transportation. Rental cars available in Jasper, GA.

Please follow the speed limits. Go slow around the curves and stay on your side of the road.
