My bright apartment is the perfect starting point to explore New York City & Crown Heights -- a trendy, up-and-coming area in Brooklyn. Near the super charming Franklin Ave. which is full of cute shops & restaurants. Close to the 2/3/4/5/C trains.

The apartment is located on the fourth floor of a 12-unit apartment building. All of our neighbors are young, cool and friendly. My space is casual and open concept with a GREAT kitchen and 360 rooftop views (the city view is breathtaking day or night). It's a 2-bedroom apartment, with a private bedroom for rent.

The basics:
- walk-in kitchen -- fully equipped + a dishwasher which is quite rare in NYC :)
- queen bed in your private room (accommodates 2)
- heat
- a/c units (one in your room, one--very powerful one--in the common area)
- single bathroom
- dining room / living room (they're slightly combined but quite comfy)
- rooftop!! (we're on the top floor so it's right up 1 flight of stairs)

- Free Wi-Fi! Note: I've heard the connection isn't the strongest in the bedroom, but you're welcome to access it in the common area as well. There's also a cafe right downstairs that's very work- and stream-friendly!
- Fresh linens, blankets and towels included (up to 2 per person per stay)
- Air conditioning (in-window)
- Kitchenware (cooking and serving) included

You'll have access to a room (the master bedroom) with a queen bed. The kitchen, living space, bathroom and rooftop are all completely accessible as well. We have two washers/dryers in the building's basement. If you need anything, let me know!

I work from home, but often take meetings in the city. I'm in the apartment many days during business hours (at least partially). Arrival time is flexible, I just ask that you clearly communicate timing so that I can best accommodate you. Nobody wants to be stranded outside after a long flight!

If I'm around, I'm more than happy to show you around the neighborhood and to help you get your bearings -- but I also respect your space. I am an advocate of alone time while traveling, so it won't hurt my feelings if you just want to crash with minimal chit chat :)

Trust that you're in good hands! I'm very excited to welcome you to my home.

My neighborhood is changing quickly, with new cafes and shops popping up (seemingly) every day. Right downstairs is the brand new Manhattanville, where you can grab a coffee and get some work done; and just two blocks away is the trendy Franklin Ave, with restaurants, bars and shops galore. Be sure to check out local eateries Mayfield, Barboncino and Cent'Anni; and grab a drink at Crown Inn, Chavelas or Drink! When I'm in town, I'm more than happy to show you around and point out the must-sees.

As a female, I feel very safe in my 'hood, even walking from the subway at night. But it is New York, so be aware of your surroundings!

I'm also a mile away from Prospect Park and just minutes from multiple subway lines (the 2, 3, 4, 5 trains are all within a 5-10 minute walk, the A & C are more like a 15 minute walk). The B44 bus runs right in front of the apartment and straight up to Williamsburg!

Downtown Brooklyn (Target, Barclay Center, Uniqlo, BAM Movie Theatres) is just one express stop away.

Règlement intérieur

Only a few main house rules!

1. No cigarette smoke in the apartment (roof is fine, just trash the butts pls).
2. Clean the kitchen after use.
3. Turn off the air conditioning & lights when away/in another room.
4. Leave common spaces clean.
5. "No new friends" -- please, no visitors without my prior consent.
6. Let me know how I can make your stay more pleasant :)

The experience at Lindsey's was incredible. Here is a factual sum-up of our 10 days spent there: First, communication could not have been more perfect. Lindsey was responsive to all our requests before and during our vacation. She is also really easy to talk with. We spent few evenings all together in the apartment and shared easily personal experiences about life. She even proposed us to try what she was cooking :) The days we were really tired, she however let us our space. The place: It is as described in airbnb and in the different comments. The bed is huge and REALLY confortable. I think I never slept as good as this in my past airbnb. As said previously, yes the wood frame is a little noisy but you get used to really quickly. We experienced 3 really hot days (but did not felt it as the room was cool - there is also a AC if you feel too hot) and 3 really cold days (we took off the AC unit, closed the window and asked Lindsey to activate the heater which was perfect). Bathroom (and the place in general) is clean. We used the kitchen to cook dinner and felt we had everything we needed. The area: We were first a little anxious about Crown Heights before arriving and the first night. Finally it is a really relaxed neighborhood that we discovered. The metro is at 5min walking from the place (and takes you directly to Center Manhattan). You have also good restaurants and coffee (to relax or have a breakfast) really near by if you don't want to eat in Manhattan. Prospect Park is at walking distance and is really cool to run in case you like it. We honestly enjoyed staying in this typical neighborhood (compare to Manhattan where all the tourists are) and felt quiet safe even coming back at midnight.

Lindsey's place is great! It's very well located close to the subway. It was easy to get to Manhattan from there and also to explore Brooklyn. I felt safe in the neighborhood at all times. The Queen size bed is comfortable and the view from the roof deck is spectacular by night and day. It was easy to communicate with Lindsey before and during my stay. She was open for a little chat every now and then and helped me when I had any questions. Thanks, Lindsey!

There was nice place to stay. Why decided to select this place, was pictures of roofterasse and possibility to use it. That was nice. Liked also inside aparement, what looks scandinavian. Thank You!

Lindsey was a great host! She was incredibly accommodating and was able to help us get situated for a stay in town. As a bonus, Lindsay is such an interesting person to talk to and had no shortage of good tips on getting around and where to eat. We knew that we did not want to spend tons of money on a hotel room since we were planning on taking advantage of our time in NYC. However, her apartment was not like we were skimping. The queen bed ( a major plus for two adults looking to share it!) was incredibly comfortable and her apartment was clean and tidy while we were there. Location wise, we thought the neighborhood was great. It had a classic Brooklyn feel and was situated around some great restaurants and very close to two subway stops. We also felt safe walking around the neighborhood at all hours, including some late nights getting back. Would absolutely recommend to anyone considering this spot. We certainly hope to be back if Lindsey would have us!

We had a wonderful stay at Lindsey's place. She was out of town so we had the apartment to ourselves. The apartment is located in a nice neighbourhood and is not far from the metro station. The house has all the facilities we needed and the bed was super comfortable. The view from the roof terrace is amazing! Unfortunately we were not able to meet Lindsey herself but we stayed in contact through and she responded quickly to every question or message, before and during our stay. She made us feel very welcome! Her boyfriend welcomed us on arrival, also a very warm and friendly person. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay at Lindsey's place!

Lindsey has a very nice flat in a up-and-coming part of Brooklyn which is well connected to the city centre. Lindsey herself is a lovely young professional who is super-welcoming and simply nice person to be around. She was also very flexible about all arrangements (arrival/departure time, usage of the kitchen, etc.) which made our stay really comfortable - thank you for that again :) ! All in all we had a very pleasant stay and I indeed recommend Lindsey as a host.

I am an entrepreneur living in Brooklyn, NY; by way of Los Angeles (born & raised in Sacramento, CA). I love music, food and experiencing new cultures that broaden my world view. That's what life is all about! Next on my list of travels: Thailand & Morocco!

I've used Airbnb all throughout Europe and now I love being on the other side of things as a host. Looking forward to meeting you :)
