Jim & Judy's home is a little piece of paradise in a nice, quiet neighborhood in San Jose del Cabo. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the cozy casita, as well as the great company – dogs and chickens included. The space was clean and had all the amenities one needs to cook a nice meal, have a hot shower, and a good night's sleep. If you love outdoor kitchens and animals, this place is a dream. We rented a car to take a few trips up the peninsula, but having a vehicle isn't necessary. The public transit in San Jose del Cabo is really good, and the house is just a short walk to the beach. Jim & Judy were incredibly helpful with recommendations and genuinely wonderful people whom we feel lucky to have met. We had a great time and hope to be back soon!

Jim and Judy truly have a fantastic slice of life in a quiet, safe, real Mexican neighborhood. They were filled with info about where to go and what to do. Artwalk on Thursday nights in San Jose is a must. Within walking distance to the Marina district- the quieter end of an already quiet town. Loved staying near the quiet artsey town of San Jose and being able to take the half hour trip by bus (27 pesos) to Cabo San Lucas for a more party Cabo atmosphere. The place is rustic, but I personally loved the outdoor kitchen and shower. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a more rustic experience within a 15 minute walk to the marina. Thanks Jim and Judy for one of the best vacations I've had in years. I even left a fishing pole for fishing in the marina for the next guests. This place is a hotspot for anyone interested in fishing!

This place was a blast. Jim and Judy truly have a rustic slice of paradise in their courtyard. I felt safe staying in a realistic Mexican neighborhood with everything one could want within biking or walking (we estimate 25 miles of walking in one week) distance. They were helpful and provided all the direction we needed for a wonderful rustic Mexican vacation. Highlights were the Thursday night Artwalk in San Jose and the many small restaurants and businesses in the even more quaint marina district. There was even a Fiesta in San Jose, and an Electronic Music Festival over near the estuary. Jim and Judy were two of the most cordial and accessible hosts I as a traveler have ever stayed with. One of my favorite vacations ever. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Jim was very helpful before my arrival with directions, traffic alerts, and answering my questions. The place was just as advertised, a lovely little retreat a ways away from the Zona Hotelera. This is not your cookie cutter, all inclusive vacation, and that was perfect for me. The patio was perfect for reading at night and enjoying a fire. Thanks again Jim, I hope to be back some day!

My partner and I stayed for a week. We very much enjoyed our stay. Jim and Judy were very friendly, communicative, flexible, responsive and helpful. The place is as advertised. It was comfortable and provided all that we needed. We were carless on our trip but found the buses, bikes and walking more than enough to get around. Overall it was a peaceful and relaxing trip. I highly recommend staying here.

If you are looking for a five star hotel, this is not it. However, if you are looking for more of a five star authentic experience of a residential Mexican neighborhood, this might be for you. Jim was very upfront and honest about what he had available. Yes, there were chickens, dogs, quasi-camping experience, short walk to the marina and estuary, short and inexpensive bus to downtown San Jose del Cabo. We are birders and there were a great many opportunities for viewing many different species. Juicy and Judy were very gracious hosts. They have lived there for over 25 years, and are great resources for information about the area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there.

What we loved about staying at Jim and Judy's little indoor/outdoor casita was the novelty of feeling like we were camping, however, that would be very high end camping. We had everything we needed, plus more. The bedroom is completely enclosed and includes all the comforts of home. The place was clean and secure and our hosts were very accommodating and friendly. We would recommend this charming little place and would return to stay.

My wife and I own and operate Baja Books and Maps and have been exploring Baja since 1985. We walk our dogs daily on the beach and enjoy a swim.

We are familiar with local sights and restaurants and can help you plan your stay in Baja.

We recently returned from Europe where we enjoyed three great Airbnb stays/experiences.

The difference between adventure and ordeal is attitude!
