Welcome to Cosy House! Located on the southern slopes of the Lake of Brienz, this quiet, bright newly renovated (2016) apartment with airy common spaces is just a few minutes drive from Interlaken. Ideal starting point for exploring the area, and central in Switzerland. Three separate bedrooms and two bathrooms make this the ideal apartment for sharing with family and friends. Fully-equipped modern kitchen in the apartment as well. Two parking spots for the holiday apartment. No smoking inside.
Cosy House was entirely renovated in 2016. Upstairs a cosy living area with open kitchen/dining/living room with exposed wooden beams and views of the mountains. On the main floor 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 double with slide-out single bed, 1 with alcove single bed and one bunk bed), sleeping 8 people. Large bathroom off the main bedroom with bath, wash basin, toilet and shower. Second bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Outdoor sitting area and parking next to the house.

Outdoor sitting area for guests' use tucked in beside the house. This house has other apartments where permanent inhabitants live. We kindly ask that you have respect for the neighbors and be aware that in Switzerland there is a strict no-noise policy after 10 PM (Sunday all day).
As the little lane to the house is narrow, you may feel more comfortable parking down at the corner grocery store. Parking costs 4.- CHF (Swiss Francs) per 24 hour period (if you don't move the car). If you use your car during the day, then you will have to re-pay the parking fee.

Although I don't live on the premises, I live nearby. I will, in most cases, welcome you personally to the Cosy House and make sure that you have everything you need. If I am not able to greet you, you will find instructions for everything you need in the apartment. I am available by phone or will stop by from time to time to answer questions and give you tips on places to go and things to see. We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, and I am happy to share my knowledge of the area!
Please leave the right side of the parking lot for the residents. Our guests are free to use the left side, where one car can park behind the other.
We kindly ask that you do not put clothes on the heating panels (fire hazard) to dry (a drying rack is provided), and please be sure that all skylights (roof-top windows) are closed before you go out for the day, even in good weather, as in the mountains sudden heavy rains/thunder storms can come up and the apartment will be damaged if rain comes inside.
Switzerland has a strictly enforced no-noise policy after 10 PM and before 7 AM.
Local tourist taxes are included in the price. Upon registration, you will be presented with a guest card which offers discounts on some of the local attractions.
PLEASE NOTE: You are expected to pay Swiss Tourist Taxes in CASH upon arrival. These are 2.70 per person, per night, for guests of 16 years of age and above. Once you have paid the tourist tax, you will receive a registration card which allows free bus travel in the immediate Interlaken area, as well as many discounts for local attractions.
While this house is very suited to families, the upper floor has an open-plan to the downstairs, and the stairs are open - there are not suitable barriers to block children from falling. Please view the photos. We have had many families with young children stay here and be very happy, however, if this is a concern, you may feel more comfortable booking a different apartment.
- Switzerland has a strict no-noise law between 10 PM and 7 AM. As the house has another suite, we also ask that you keep noise levels down and respect the neighbors, also taking into consideration that sounds carry through open windows during the summer. This does not mean that you have to be extremely quiet, it just means that care and respect for neighbors is very much appreciated.
- The holiday apartment is to be left neat and tidy: garbage removed to the bins as per the instructions in the welcome book, all used dishes washed and put away, floors lightly swept and tidied, please.
There is a washer and a dryer for your use - please leave a bit of coin for washing liquid or powder, which is supplied.
Use of bed linens and towels are included in the rental price and are supplied at the beginning of your stay for the number of guests booked.
I love to travel, and the next best thing to travelling is hosting people from all over the world, from all walks of life! Sharing the 'most beautiful view in the world' with travellers, and seeing the smiles on their faces as they look across the clear blue lake to the mountains on the other side is so intensely satisfying.
Travelling is lovely, but it's always nice to have a 'home away from home' where one feels comfortable and happy - that's why the holiday flat is well-equipped with all of the amenities that one may need while on holiday.
