This 2 person room is in a 9 room Lodge in the Big Powderhorn Ski Area. Each room has its own bath 28 beds total - accommodates 35+ with large common areas; rec room, byob lounge area, dining and game room. Ski, hike, mt. bike, kayak & snowmobile at Powder Hound Lodge nestled in a quaint Bavarian style village. Hike to 6 stunning waterfalls along the 12 miles scenic byway to Lake Superior.
Unfortunately, with the nature of our place, we do not accommodate pets. It's for the comfort of all of our guests. Primarily because we have dogs ourselves (sometimes at the Lodge, sometimes next door) and other pups tend to behave differently when making themselves at home in another dog's house.
No smoking inside the lodge at any time. Not in rooms, common area, not in the byob bar area even though it may appear with open air that it's possible. Smokers welcome but only smoking in designated areas outside away from open windows.
Kids - The Lodge is a great place to spread out and be in your own space but please have adult supervision morning and night. Mornings especially, no one wants to wake up to crashing pool balls or running in the rec room.
Kids/Hot Tub - please have an adult with your kids when in the hot tub area. No running or roughhousing in hot tub area. 8 people allowed in hot tub at a time and even if it's kids, it's a tight squeeze. More than that - and roughhousing- splashes water out of the tub to where the pump starts sucking air and the hot tub breaks. That's why we put the rule in place.
Pool table opens when all guests are awake or by noon. Hot tub and pool close at 10 pm. Quiet time after 10 if other guests are sharing the lodge. If you rent the place out, you can be as loud as you want as late as you want.
Most people visit for the recreation and hit the trails early. However, in the event we have late sleepers....
Please if you know you're an early riser and heading out early - then please don't park your sled right under someone's window. Park away from the rooms. If early morning... Warm up and head out. We had issues (one time) with sleds playing in the front yard at a rather early hour. With non-snowmobilers staying the night. So, now we encourage riding all over the property when all guests are awake or after 9:00 a.m. Most guests are up & out when the ski lifts open or early for back country riding.
We have teenagers (college age) and love to have teen visitors. When a carload of teens visit, there's a 2-night minimum. We want you to relax and get some sleep at least the night before heading home. You'll be happy you stayed the extra night. And, Yes, we have wi-fi - you'll stay connected.
