Règlement intérieur

Unfortunately, with the nature of our place, we do not accommodate pets. It's for the comfort of all of our guests. Primarily because we have dogs ourselves (sometimes at the Lodge, sometimes next door) and other pups tend to behave differently when making themselves at home in another dog's house.
No smoking inside the lodge at any time. Not in rooms, common area, not in the byob bar area even though it may appear with open air that it's possible. Smokers welcome but only smoking in designated areas outside away from open windows.
Kids - The Lodge is a great place to spread out and be in your own space but please have adult supervision morning and night. Mornings especially, no one wants to wake up to crashing pool balls or running in the rec room.
Kids/Hot Tub - please have an adult with your kids when in the hot tub area. No running or roughhousing in hot tub area. 8 people allowed in hot tub at a time and even if it's kids, it's a tight squeeze. More than that - and roughhousing- splashes water out of the tub to where the pump starts sucking air and the hot tub breaks. That's why we put the rule in place.
Pool table opens when all guests are awake or by noon. Hot tub and pool close at 10 pm. Quiet time after 10 if other guests are sharing the lodge. If you rent the place out, you can be as loud as you want as late as you want.
Most people visit for the recreation and hit the trails early. However, in the event we have late sleepers....
Please if you know you're an early riser and heading out early - then please don't park your sled right under someone's window. Park away from the rooms. If early morning... Warm up and head out. We had issues (one time) with sleds playing in the front yard at a rather early hour. With non-snowmobilers staying the night. So, now we encourage riding all over the property when all guests are awake or after 9:00 a.m. Most guests are up & out when the ski lifts open or early for back country riding.

We have teenagers (college age) and love to have teen visitors. When a carload of teens visit, there's a 2-night minimum. We want you to relax and get some sleep at least the night before heading home. You'll be happy you stayed the extra night. And, Yes, we have wi-fi - you'll stay connected.

We have a family of five that came up to ski at Powderhorn and this was perfect. It is 2 minute drive (there is also a shuttle available) to the base of the hill and was very easy to find. Upon arrival we were greeted by Anne and Yogi (the sweetest St. Bernard) and given the tour of the lodge. Each morning Anne had an abundant breakfast and "free trade" coffee prepared. The kids played billiards, chess and foosball in the evening while we grilled out on the porch. After dinner we relaxed in the hot tub and sauna. The rooms were cozy and clean. We felt like we were at home after the first night. Everyone was so kind and gracious. We are defiantly going to return and would recommend the PowderHound Lodge to anyone interest in getting some time in the U.P:

We stayed one night at Anne's lounge. There was a huge living room with a varieties of fun you can choose from. My son loved the table soccer so much and hopefully we did not make too much noise. Anne also showed us the tomato garden where we picked and tastes some tomatoes. Oh they are so good!!! Anyway this lodge is kinda of hostel feel and I recommend it if you are coming in large groups.

Thanks for the nice review, Light. I hope your program and Alan's go well and your dad has an excellent time with you while visiting. He's so nice and positive :) It was so fun to have you stay, even just for the one night. Hoping Alan will return to see the leaves change color. I don't know if you guys all saw Copper Peak Adventure Ride but you can take the chair lift to the top of the hill and then an elevator 18 more stories up and then stairs to the very top of the ski jump. The fall color view from there is stunning. You can see all the way to Canada and Minnesota, WIsconsin and Michigan fall colors from the top on a clear day. You can (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) it. It's amazing. And about 3 miles down Black River Road toward Lake Superior. Anyways, glad to hear James had a good time and no, noise would never bother us. It's a fun and noisy game. :) So nice meeting you all. Anne

Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. Anne was so welcoming and so accomodating, she definitely made us feel so at home. My friends and I spent time in the hot tub and sauna, both clean and awesome additions, and we all enjoyed our stay. I wish we could have stayed another couple nights! Next time we come up we will definitely stay here.

Staying at the Powder Horn Lodge was great! Anne and Chris started off our stay by giving myself and my four friends who came up for a weekend ski trip a tour of the lodge, which was bigger than I expected, and then showed us to our rooms. The next morning breakfast was ready and waiting for us as we prepared for a day of skiing. The nights we spent hanging out in the hottub and in the common room. I can't emphasize enough how well our stay went. I'd definitely recommend staying at the Powder Hound Lodge to anybody looking for easy access to UP skiing, and great hosts.
