The Airbnb listing posts the house rules which are: no shoes, no smoking, no parties and no food/drink near upholstered furniture, and kindly don't roll suitcases, but carry them to prevent damage to the floor. I found that people didn't read the rules prior to check-in. A former guest suggested I post a sign at the front door reminding guests to remove shoes and carry their suitcases. Even though there are reminders to refrain from eating on the sofa, people do, and I have had several stains and claims against security deposits. As Thuy said, the home is furnished with expensive items meant to provide luxury for guests, which inherently mandates care and caution. The Airbnb clearly posts all rules and asks potential guests to read them, to make sure this is the listing for them. As a host, it is surprising that a guest books the home then complains of the rules. The listing has been updated to emphasize the above stated rules. It isn't pleasant for either guest or host if the guests are frustrated with their stay. Thank you, Thuy for your feedback. Kindest regards.
