Le logement

Spread your wings in the Artful Cascadian Cottage! The most spacious of dwellings and filled with original art from local artists, knick-knack paddywacks and a chalkboard wall to add your own AND literally steps from the great Cascade Range with walking path beckoning your company for a jaunt along trails up, down and all around! Downstairs features an open floor plan with great room layout featuring full service kitchen, bathroom w/shower, washer & dryer, dining area with table for 6, living room with matching leather couch, oversized chair w/ottoman and love seat, library with books, games, puzzles and magazines, and w/big screen TV with DISH network and wi-fi, a French Colonial full bed w/2 night stands. Enjoy lounging with good book in hand or spread the cards, a puzzle, or game out on the solid wood table with seating for 6! A small covered porch greats you along with a comfortable sun and shade landscaped lawn with lawn chairs, table and umbrella, BBQ w/lighter fluid, and campfire ring.

All of the dwellings are fully furnished and with fresh towels, clean linens, a full kitchen with cookware, dishes, cups, glasses, silverware, etc. Wood stove for heat (with back up of heater upon request). Please ask if you need help getting the fire started or keeping it maintained.

The 18+ acre woodland ranch is located right against the National Forest and Cascade Range with walking and riding trails along the year round creek and into the level and mountainous old growth forestland. Each dwelling's rustic theme based elegance combined with convenient amenities creates a fun mood and sets off Tired Dog Ranch from any other overnight accommodations. Very unique, secluded and relaxing, TDR is nestled outside a quiet community that is yearly gaining speed as an outdoor recreational paradise. This is a farm/forest compound with free range chickens, farm cats (outside exclusively, please), farm dogs and 5 equine with inherent risks. As well, due to it's location (neighboring property is National Forest), wildlife abounds and on rare occasion may be so curious or bold to venture onto the 18-acre property (deer, elk, raccoons, skunk, bear, cougar, crow, raven, etc.) so take care to protect yourself while outdoors to make your stay safe and sound. I am happy to provide tips of the trade :)

Summer rates apply starting April 1st and extend through September 31st. Winter rates start October 1st and extend to March 31st. Additional costs are charged for more than 6 in the party

Accès des voyageurs

All guests are welcome to navigate the grounds, though the large campsite fire pit in upper meadow is for campers only (unless otherwise approved by host). The wood provided is for home use, as all dwellings are predominately heated via a wood stove (with back up heaters provided). Access to the horses in the pasture and free range chickens is always fun, but at your own risk (signage posted) and with adult supervision (horses not for riding). Please keep pets with you at all times and on a leash at all times when outside of the dwellings since the chickens are free range (and costly at $50/each to replace if your pet causes it's demise). Pets and children must remain with their parents/masters at all times, and please DO NOT CHASE THE CHICKENS. The Cottage is unlocked and ready for entry upon your arrival. There is a key on the end table by the loveseat with a $15 replacement fee if not returned upon your departure. Help yourself in and make yourself at home. Please call if your arrival is after 10:00 p.m. Early arrival or late departure upon request only with $8/hour charge required via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) prior to arrival or check/cash upon arrival.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

I live on the property and greet all guests if I am present at the time they arrive. I am available for questions, assistance and directions, but try to give everyone their space so they can have private enjoyment of the land... even though I'm a blast to be around if not filled with hay, oily hands or chicken poop ;). Please help yourself into the unlocked dwelling and I'll come to introduce myself and answer any questions you may have. Of course, I have my cell phone on my person at all times ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), so call if you like.

The location is great for mountain bikers, hikers and exploring the area. The cottage does not technically have bedrooms, so know that your privacy will be limited and read the description carefully. We had our twin toddlers with us, and the railings and stairs are unsafe for the age of our children. Overall we had an enjoyable weekend with friends and their families, and this location allowed us to all be together.

The cottage at the Tired Dog Ranch was a great spot for us to meet up with friends and venture out to Crater Lake. We're looking forward to coming back some time for camping and further exploration of the local natural wonders.

When you check in to an air bnb and there is a beautiful dish of multi-colored farm fresh eggs (laid by the hilarious chickens in residence) waiting for you, you gotta know it's going to be a beautiful stay! The cabin was cozy, the grounds were so much fun to explore, the chickens were sassy and the horses were sweet. We spent a PERFECT evening by the fire pit, roasting marshmallows for s'mores and listening to music under the starry sky. And during the day when it was pretty scorching outside, we enjoyed the inside of the cabin, watching movies and playing games (all provided). We were so comfortable and can't wait to come back in the fall, when it's not quite so hot and we can hike a little more! Than you for your hospitality, Sally - we love Tired Dog Ranch!

Ah, thank you Janessa! I will love having you back! You left the place in great great shape and didn't see a scratch on the couch or chair so that dear cat of yours is the "meow" as far as I'm concerned. I will hopefully see you soon!!! Sally

Nice cottage with great amenities like BBQ grill and fire pit. Sally let us use the wood and free range eggs at no additional cost. The front yard is amazing and good for BBQ gathering.
