I'd hoped not to hear again from Latiesha, & let sleeping dogs lie, but I'm now forced to respond & rebut this very difficult & confrontational guest. As a professional business person, & Airbnb Superhost, I process approx 100 guests per month, every month; so I'm certainly qualified in giving an unbiased appraisal. 99% of my reviews will attest to my stunning apartments & incredible service levels.
Latiesha is a very rare type of guest; one who is not reasonably satisfied, & one whose price/value expectations are simply unrealistic; someone who wants something for free.
Despite her error in booking my apartment which is clearly listed as NOT having Wifi, her expectation was to have this service included for free. When offered a solution at the Wifi provider cost price, she declined.
Another example of her expectations of something for free, was her request for a 10am check-in; despite our check-out policy being after this time at 10:30 (Check in policy listed from 2:30pm). After ensuring prior guests had departed early, I employed all my cleaning/laundromat staff/resources to expedite readiness of the apartment for her very early check-in. This was certainly, once again, something Letiesha took for granted, in line with my above appraisal.
Sadly, from time to time, electronic equipment fails. This was the case that day with the washing machine (now repaired). So as not to inconvenience Latiesha, I offered her the exclusive use immediately of the machine in the next door apartment, 10 step from her door. She has taken this as an opportunity to bemoan an unanticipated machine fault, as opposed to giving credit for a speedy solution.
Her comment in respect of cleanliness can only be attributed to our forced rushed job to prepare the apartment for her early 10am checkin. Our linen is brand new and spotless. Ants are an inevitable eventuality in sub-tropical Durban, unfortunately, despite our rigorous insecticide spraying.
Letiesha had come from another apartment block across the road from us, where I understand she was also dissatisfied. She then moved to another apartment in our block for a short stay, & has since moved on despite her stated intentions upfront of a long term stay - presumably also dissatisfied with that apartment too.
I will not accept another booking from Latiesha, & warn her future hosts to appreciate upfront that this guest has unreasonable expectations & is ready and willing to vent on a public forum like this in an attempt to validate her unsubstantiated discontent.
