Small and charming cottage with private bedroom, breezeway and full bathroom. Separated from main house by a mini patio edged with towering bamboo. The cottage does not include a kitchen, but we serve light, complimentary breakfast daily.

Le logement

The cottage bedroom is sunny, safe and very quiet. The bed is a double and is very comfortable! Please note that the cottage has no kitchen. Guests often join us for a light breakfast in the main house kitchen.

We are located on a quiet, tree-lined street with easy parking four blocks from the Garden District. One block away is Magazine Street — a mecca for restaurants, antiques, boutiques and art galleries. The Magazine Street bus takes you downtown to the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny via the Warehouse (arts) District and the Ogden and World War II museums, or uptown to Audubon Park, the Zoo and Tulane and Loyola universities. If you prefer the city’s famous St. Charles streetcar line, that trolley service is a short few blocks away.

Ours is a safe, authentic New Orleans neighborhood known for its front porches and the friendly people who sit on them. Enjoy good coffee in the main house kitchen with owners Jane and Jed, longtime New Orleans residents always happy to offer their two-cents worth on city restaurants, entertainment, and politics.

Accès des voyageurs

The entire cottage (bedroom, porch, bathroom) and patio are available to our guests. The refrigerator in the main house kitchen is available to store drinks and leftovers.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We truly enjoy interacting with our guests, as you'll see from our reviews. Not all folks want to mix. We pride ourselves on making our guests comfortable on their own terms.

This is the best bnb experience I've ever had. Jane and her husband are SO friendly and accommodating and are great with communicating/making sure you're comfy. If you want a hotel feel with a tv, room service, and other amenities, go to a hotel. This cottage is for individuals/couples that are looking to get that homey, quaint vibe that is right in the middle of a quiet New Orleans neighborhood. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and boutiques, just a skip to Audobon Park, and a short drive to the Quarter. Can't say enough good things about this place and the area that it's in. I want to close in saying again that Jane and her husband are really great hosts with some great stories. Thanks you two for the genuine southern hospitality!

Jane and Jed were everything you'd hope a host would be: responsive, communicative, organized. More importantly, they are great people! The delicious morning breakfasts in their art-filled kitchen and the relaxing afternoon wine hours on their shady porch enriched our experience more than any fancy brunch or hoppin' happy hour could. Our space was comfortable, well-designed, unique, and very well-furnished (including all of the essentials in case we forgot anything). We will ABSOLUTELY look to Jane and Jed our next visit. Thank you!!

We couldn't have been happier or more satisfied with our stay at this Charming Uptown Cottage. The place and hosts exceeded our expectations. They were incredibly warm and welcoming. The space was so cozy and had everything we needed. Jane even had extra toiletries in a basket in case we forgot anything. The location of the house was great. It was far enough away from the French Quarter to offer us a uniquely different experience from those who stay right in the center of it all. But, there was still a lot to do close by. Their home is incredibly close to Magazine Street which has tons of fun restaurants and shops. It's also really close to the Trolley, which you can take to the Garden District or into the French Quarter. Jane and Jed were also fantastic hosts. Their hospitality was a big contributing factor in making the trip as enjoyable and memorable as it was. We had a glass of wine with them the first evening when we arrived and they helped give us ideas of what we wanted to see and do during our long weekend in New Orleans. We came to really look forward to our breakfasts with Jane, not only for the delicious food (homemade yogurt and muffins, fresh fruit, and as much coffee/tea as we wanted), but also for her wonderful company. We had so much fun getting to know each other and really feel like we lucked out in signing up for a weekend at their lovely home!

Jane and Jed were beyond amazing hosts. Jane went above and beyond to make our 6am arrival comfortable and smooth. The fresh muffins in the morning and delightful conversation was such a treat. And the place was way cleaner, cuter and bright the photos could possibly show! Our first time to New Orleans, and now not our last!

We had a beautiful stay with Jane and her husband Jed. They were both super welcoming and went above and beyond in helping us become familiarized with the New Orleans area (we're actually relocating to the area). Jane is a dream host, baking fresh muffins in the morning, providing coffee and fantastic conversation. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and getting to know our hosts. Jane & Jed truly are the kind of folks that make AirBnB a wonderful community. We left feeling we had made a real friendship, that we hope to continue once we get permanently settled.

Jane is an incredibly warm and welcoming host, greeting us with beverages and hugs on our arrival. She walked us through her lovely home, which led to the rear cottage where we stayed. There is a separate private entrance for the cottage, but Jane made it clear that we were welcome to use the kitchen in the main house. The cottage is comfortable and cozy. We wished we had more time to sit on the porch that separates the bedroom from the bathroom, but our schedule was pretty full.

Far and away the best AirBnB experience I've had thus far! Jane and Jed are incredibly warm and knowledgeable hosts, and we had a great time getting acquainted with them over tasty breakfasts during our stay. The cottage is comfortable and ideally located a block away from bustling Magazine St. Also near the scenic Garden District, it's a great place to begin exploring the city. I would recommend staying with Jane and Jed to anyone visiting New Orleans and hope to return soon!
