Accès des voyageurs
Guests in the guesthouse share the fully equipped kitchen and spacious bathrooms in this cosy and comfortable home away from home. Dining together provides a wonderful opportunity to share stories of your travels, give hints & tips about what to see and where to go, and to make new friends from all over the world. For those visiting without a car (not recommended!), you might just be lucky enough to organise a ride with another guest.
In warmer weather, there is ample space in our outdoor area for preparing a meal and sitting in the sunshine. (In time, we will develop a herb & vegie patch in the garden, that guests will be welcome to forage through. Future renovations will include an outdoor kitchen.)

Although we are relatively new to Kangaroo Island, we can give you loads of information about the island and the best places to visit. What we don't know, we will find out for you!
If needed, we can help you create the perfect itinerary for you, according to your interests and to make best use of your time on the island. We recommend a 3-5 day minimum, but appreciate that this is not always possible!
As mentioned, Kangaroo Island is a very BIG island. It is not possible to see much without a mode of transport - either your own vehicle, or a hire car. It is possible to take tours (starting from $163 per person) to the other side of the island, but your own transport is best. If at all possible, allow at least three days on the island to explore as much as possible.
It is also important to note that restaurants and the local supermarket close early in regional Australia. If you are arriving after 8pm in the evening, there is every chance that you will NOT find something to eat. Please be prepared to cook something to eat on arrival. We have some food available for sale (rice, pasta, noodles, tin cans, etc)
A stay at KI Dragfonfly Guesthouse requires you to be mindful of other guests.
This means leaving shared spaces neat and tidy after use:
1) In the kitchen, wipe down stove, benchtops and tables, put away food items; put plates, cups & cutlery in dishwasher: wash pots and pans and put them away.
2) In the bathroom: mop out the shower after use; hang up bath mat; wipe down basin and bench.
Cleaning by management occurs only once daily - therefore, guests are required to leave the kitchen, lounge, bathroom and BBQ area clean and tidy for other guests' enjoyment.
SMOKERS: There is a designated smoking area outside. An ashtray is provided for your convenience. You are required to empty this into an outside bin (with a red lid) and rinse under the outside tap after you have finished.
NOISE CURFEW: Out of respect for sleeping guests, there is a curfew for noise (loud talking and music) of 10.30 pm throughout the entire guesthouse. Please keep other noise to a minimum such as banging of doors, talking in hallway, etc, after this time and before 8am in the morning.
Hello! My partner, Bruno, and I moved to Kangaroo Island from mainland South Australia in November 2016. We love it here and hope that you will too! My background is predominantly in hospitality, tourism and events. We both adore meeting people from all over the world. We look forward to welcoming you to our guesthouse - a home away from home - and to helping you discover beautiful KI.
