We enjoyed having Daniel stay with us but there were a few issues that arose that I would say relate more to his young age and inexperience traveling as opposed to his character. For instance, he alleged that money was taken from his room and insinuated it must have been a fellow guest or one of the Staff. This is highly unlikely as he stayed in a private room upstairs with a locked door. The House is 3 stories high and the other Guest’s door also has a lock as does the main entrance door. It would be impossible to scale the outside of the House to break in. Contrary to what Daniel says, the locks were bought in Canada and installed within the last two years. Everything about the House is safe and secure. Also, as owners, we live right on the property. Something else that was odd was the supposed thief only took $20 out of their wallet each night when there were hundreds of dollars next to it. No thief is going to do that. A far more likely explanation would be that they overspent their money when they were drinking until late every night in the village. But rather than reflect or seek a reasonable explanation, they chose to jump to conclusions while guests and then subsequently report it here. Another issue was that they were very upset about having to pay a Chambero $10 to carry their bags and guide them the 25 minute walk from the Wharf to Dobedo. The Chamberos work independently of any businesses on the island and this is their livelihood with which they feed their family. I would say the fee for their services is quite reasonable considering the labor involved. To appease Daniel, I paid the Chambero fee for him. A nice person but needs to grow up a little bit.
