The Eco House was amazing. If you come to Medellin, you need to stay at least 1 day here. The host was also very knowledgeable as well.

Jesse and the gang were extremely helpful, interesting, and friendly. Plus, the view of the city from the mountains was spectacular. And it was nice to wake up to the sounds of nature for a change. One minor glitch -- as of 11.26 (and when I booked my visit), the location of the Castle is shown on the map as being in Envigado in the city, which is incorrect. The location is 30+ minutes drive outside of the city in St. Elena. This did cause me some confusion/issues upon my arrival. Also, one more thing to note, it does get cold in the mountains. However, my lack of warm clothing was made up for by the house's fireplace and space heater.

Where to begin? I know. Lets start with the absolutely stunning view of Medellin and the surrounding mountains. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a view that gives you the peace and tranquility that the green rolling hills embody while at the same time allowing you to see and feel the energy from the city emanating up from the valley. It is a view that is different every day with a distinct cloud formations passing through the landscape in the morning, afternoon and night. The hills around you are alive with the sound of ............well, sometimes music, depending on if Colombia happens to be celebrating one of its many, many holidays while you are there. However, birds and the sound of the wind rustling the leaves of the trees that surround the cabin are all you are going to hear. The house itself is rustic enough to give you a constant reminder that you are in the mountains and you are indeed in a mountain cabin, which is why I came here. The rooms are comfortable and plenty spacious. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a killer meal. Jesse runs the place and he happens to also be a wicked, mean, cook so whether your trying to gorge yourselves or eat healthy, organic and tasty, he is your man. He is more than happy to show you around the "neighborhood" and introduce you to the friendly people that live nearby. Despite only being there for about 30 hours, I was able to manage several long walks and stopped off to eat at the little family-operated restaurants. There are a few great little spots to quench your thirst as well and surely a few locals who would love to drink a round or two with you. Staying on the property is also a pleasure. Whether you want to read and nap in the hammock or sunbath in the yard, your all set up. I've traveled extensively through Latin America, Africa, Asia, Australia and USA and I can tell you that you I have never found such a nice, quant, gorgeous, unique place with such friendly, happy, positive people. Thanks Jesse for the amazing time, wish I could have stayed longer, I will most definitely be back!

This is an incredibly special space. The houses were quirky and quaint. The view is one for the ages. Both houses were fully equipped and have comfortable beds. They're plenty of tiendas and restaurants nearby and you can take local taxis for around 75 cents per ride. You are pretty much fancy camping with the option of having a fire inside or outside every night. If you are looking to getaway and not be so typical, I highly suggest staying at the finca for a few nights and unwinding from all the shenanigans occurring in the city below. You won't find another property like this in Colombia.

These cottages, located in the mountains outside Medellin, are an excellent place to escape from the city. It is a very nice rustic place with splendid views, sourrended by nature. Jesse was a great host. He is open mind and a really cool guy. Although we arrived late at night at the cabin, he waited and greeted us with great warmth and kindness. Thanks a lot Jesse!

I'm from Boston, but Ive been in Medellin for 5 years now. I'm passionate about health and healing, gardening, music, travel, languages, and delicious food and beer! For me I feel happiest when I can share new experiences with and learn from loving, open-minded and creative people. We all have different paths, pasts and personalities, but if we can live with passion and love we will have done what we can with our time.
