Barbara and Glen,
I have done my best to provide a quality experience for you and your husband, and I am deeply hurt that just because I did not provide a coffee maker, you left me a review that brought my average rating down to 4.8 (below average).
I never listed "coffee maker" as an amenity in my listing. If you had just read my listing, you would know this. I provided you the names of 5 coffee shops that are within 5 min walking distance when you reached out to me. Honestly, I am shocked that you held a coffee maker against me when I responded to all of your questions within 30 min and provided (more than once) public transportation tips. I can only hope you will not treat other hosts with this mentality. You have mentioned that "We're used to have basic supplies in the kitchen". Unfortunately a coffee maker is not a part of this "basic supply" in my culture, my apartment, or the requirements by Airbnb. After all, you are staying in my apartment, not a hotel. And not all homeowners are avid coffee drinkers.
You have mentioned in your review that you thought the apartment furniture was basic. I agree with you, and I also want to remind you that I did not false advertise my apartment! The apartment has all the amenities that were shown on the listing. You should not have booked this place if it was not to your standard. The pictures are as advertised.
Airbnb is a community that connects people and shares experiences. We are not big corporations and we are not perfect by everyone's standards. Most of us do not false advertise our listing and the amenities we provide. I suggest to read the listings more thoroughly and reach out to other hosts before booking. There's no point of holding host's to your standards blindly and leaving feedback that hurts other hosts because it was not what you are used to having at home. I hope you understand.
