Hi Artie, Thank you for the feedback. When you rented Sky Lark Cottage the House rules state clearly you "Leave the Cottage the Way you Find It. We have had many Guest stay at Sky Lark Cottage treated the property their Home Away from Home.
Reasons for the Additional Fee of $100: You were sent three message through Airbnb days prior to your vacation, to please print your confirmation which also states the house rules. Pictures speak a thousand words and I have plenty of pictures to back up my claim. Hence, all pictures you receive of the state of the property in which it was left. Which included, windows left open, a screen out of one of the windows and I had to have it put back in, I had to get a ladder to take down streamers from the beams in the kitchen left over from your Mermaid party, party decorations draped over the rod at the kitchen window, trash over flowing in the kitchen and extra trash bags were under the sink in the kitchen, trash cans in each room was over flowing, blow up oriental trading balls all through the house, dirty soiled dishes on the counter and in the dishwasher, frying pan with egg stuck to it, coffee stains on the white kitchen counter, Food and sand on the floors and the list goes on. Lounge chair cushions left on the dock with no message left to go and get them and or apologizing for the inconvenience. Soiled wash cloth and towel need to be replace. If it was only general cleaning there would have been no issue. This state of the property surpassed general cleaning and sanitizing for the next Guest to check-in.
Taxi: You contacted me at 9.06 pm via text message, the night before departure to confirm your taxi, and at that time driver was not answering his phone of which I advised. You stated you have made alternative arrangements.
Location: Yes the location is off the beaten path, of which is clearly explained in the listing and in the directions. If you are looking for the very private tranquil rental property Sky Lark Cottage is the place with breath taking ocean view, private docks and beach.
Internet Issue: If you would have contacted me earlier in the day I could have contact the internet service provided to rectify the problem immediately. Hence I did not know there was a wifi issue until the day of departure when you arrived at the airport in Bermuda (7:50 am) advising you did not have wifi at the cottage, you were unable to read the checkout procedures and apologizing for the condition you let the property in. I contacted the internet service provider and they advised there was no issue with the internet the day before your departure.
Bermuda is a very Beautiful place to visit and it is most unfortunate your experience in Bermuda has been tinted with this issue. Your feedback will definitely help the next Guest.
