Le logement

Our beautiful York home is grade 2 listed and, although decorated and furnished in a modern and stylish way, many period features have been retained. It is situated in the upmarket Bishophill conservation area of York, within the city walls, and is just a 5-10 mins walk from York train station and York City centre with all York’s fantastic restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and attractions. Dewsbury Terrace is a very peaceful small crescent and generally only the vehicles belonging to residents of Dewsbury Terrace use it. There is resident only on-street parking and a parking permit for one car is included if required. Most of the houses on Dewsbury Terrace, including ours, face the inside of the stunning York City walls, so that is the view from our front door, lounge and master bedroom. York City walls are open for the public to walk from 8am until dusk, so they lock the access gates in the evening at different times through the year - they are also kept closed if the weather is considered too bad.

Our house faces south and has a small courtyard at the front with a bench. The front door opens into a hallway which leads to a comfy lounge and attractive separate dining room, off which there is the small kitchen. There are two sofas in the lounge with a smart 43" TV, high speed Wi-Fi broadband hub and portable bluetooth speaker. The dining room has a circular oak table and four chairs, although a couple of extra dining chairs are available within the property. The kitchen is quite small, but still has a fridge, oven, sink, kettle, toaster and all necessary crockery, cutlery & utensils......there is no dish-washer. A door from the kitchen opens outside to a rear enclosed courtyard with outdoor table & chairs and a small shed that might hold your cycles. A further door from the kitchen leads down period steps to a large basement. Here you will find a good sized utility room which houses the modern gas fired central heating boiler, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, microwave, Belfast sink, creel hanging facility, ironing board & iron. There is then a further room in the basement, with natural light, with a double sofa bed, bookcase with books and DVDs, another smart 43” TV and a DVD player. Please note that the 3rd bed in the basement is a sofa bed and therefore the house is ideal for two couples and maybe one or two children, if they don't mind sharing the sofa bed!
