Relax and enjoy an entire floor of my home in the heart of the Uptown area. Easy access to the French Quarter, Garden District, St. Charles Ave mansions, dining, shopping and live music, much within walking distance. Great during Mardi Gras
Walk inside, kick off your shoes and let the floor tiles cool your feet. Bring your bags into the bedroom, where you have a comfortable queen-size bed and ample closet space, along with an ironing board and iron. But who wants to do that on vacation? Check out the cozy kitchen and help yourself to the complementary wine, water and soft drinks, or brew yourself a coffee with the Keurig. There is a gas range and utensils if you’re in the mood to cook up the Cajun recipe you just discovered, and the grocery store a few blocks away can get you started. Or kick back in your huge living room with cable TV and free Wi-Fi as you stretch out on the leather sofa or melt into an oversized chair. There is a laptop desk if you need to catch up on emails, and you can even do a light workout with the ab machine and dumbbells. Have a shower in your must-see private bathroom, where you are provided with towels, body wash, shampoo, hair dryer and other amenities as needed. You will have over 1000 square feet of space all to yourself! Feel free to wander outside and enjoy your coffee or cocktails on the deck, soaking in the southern sun under the branches of a gracious oak tree, or head to the shaded sitting area in the yard to watch neighborhood passersby. But you’re here to explore New Orleans, indulge in Mardi Gras or take in Jazz Fest, so walk less than a minute to St. Charles Avenue and hop on the streetcar for a quick ride down to the French Quarter, Audubon Park, or Tulane and Loyola Universities. You can also use the bicycles for a leisurely ride around the various and interesting neighborhoods of the Big Easy. As they say, “Laissez le bon temps rouler!” Let the good times roll.

My work schedule is flexible; if I’m around I can offer suggestions on good eats, things to do and places to see, or anything from high tea to dive bars. I enjoy spending time in my garden, so you might find yourself digging and planting along side of me, if I can sweet-talk you into it. My curious and friendly cat Theo may ask you to scratch his chin if you’re outside on the deck.
The property is listed as accessible to those with disabilities, as everything is on one level. However there is a small step to get into the shower, and there is about a 2-inch (5 cm) difference between the floor of the living room and the floor of the bedroom.
There are his and hers bicycles that you can use to tour around the neighborhood.

Other than when Mardi Gras parades are rolling through, this is a quiet neighborhood and I'm sure my neighbors would like it to stay that way. So hard partying and loud music players are not welcome. I prefer guests who are respectful of my home and who will treat it as they would their own. No pets. No smoking is allowed inside, but outside is OK, as long as you pick up butts.
There is a firm cancellation policy. Bad weather, airline cancellations, illness and other circumstances occur regardless of travel plans. Please consider investing in travel insurance.
I'm a physician and an easy-going guy who transplanted from the north to the south (don't miss those winters) and enjoy life in one of the nation's - if not the world's - most unique cities. My enjoyment of music, food and eclectic people makes me a natural fit in The Big Easy. I've enjoyed being a host on Airbnb and I'm excited about having guests, learning about them and where they come from, while at the same time sharing my knowledge of New Orleans to make you feel at home. I spend free time riding my bicycle in the park, usually stopping to feed the ducks, going out for some live music at one of the many clubs here, attending performing arts events, gardening, or rooting for the Saints. As my guest, you will be treated with respect and I'll do my best to accommodate your requests.
