This 300 year old half timber house on an old dairy farm turned organic cider-apple orchard is about a 45 minute drive from D-Day beaches, and an easy 2 hour drive from the heart of Paris. It has been in our family for over 70 years.
We are not taking reservations for the 2019 season at the moment. Please check later in the summer.

Le logement
Welcome to our countryhouse where furniture, photos and objects from life here in the 1940's still have their place and the only thing that might wake you up in the morning are the birds singing.

July and August have 5 night minimums!!!!!!!

This House and its' annex are available only in May,June, July, August and September and are prefectly situated near Lisieux and the Normandy coast for a visit to the D-Day beaches, Caen Memorial and the WWII cemeteries. It is also in the center of the "Pays d'Auge" with its' abundance of fresh cream, famous local cheeses, cider and Calvados.
Our Certified Organic property is set on 12 hectars of fields which include a cider apple orchard, a permaculture kitchen garden and a small stream that separates the fields from our forest.
This house is lost in the fields below the main farmhouse, with beautiful views of rolling hills and horses and sheep in some of the ajoining fields. The cottage itself, except for a few improvements for comfort, has kept the pre-war country style that our family has preserved for 3 generations.
We will provide wood for fires and an antique garden table for dining outside and a LeCreuset BBQ. Despite the time warp, there is WIFI AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OUR BARN up by our house, as well as a laundry room with washer and dryer for week stays. We have also added a microwave, fridge/freezer, stove, toaster and coffee maker to the kitchen's original apliances for your comfort.
There are 2 bedrooms downstairs. The yellow room is for 2 and the blue room is for 3.

Accès des voyageurs
There is a second little cottage available for 2 extra people that can also be rented if you are traveling with friends or family. It is an old transformed half timber barn nestled in between the house below and the main farmhouse up near the road. It is tiny but is cosy and very nicely furnished. It has a sleeping loft with king size bed, and a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom with shower. It is very comfortably appointed for a delightful stay. This whole miniature house can also be rented separately. It has garden furniture too for the terrace and access to wifi and the laundry room. It is called "The House That Jack Built" and can also be found on AirBnB when available.

The rolling hills of the "Pays d'Auge" are bucolic and abundently sprinkled with half-timber farm houses, apple orchards and cows. This is where delicious cheeses and sparkling cider are produced and where some fine dining with local butter, cream, apples and calvadose can be found. The summers are warm during the day and cooler in the evenings with starry skies and no mosquitoes! Perfect for late night chats by a bonfire making smores….and listening to the owls hoot.
The Beaches are half an hour away and Lisieux, a market town is a 10 minute drive.

I am a permaculture gardener and grow our vegetables, fruits and flowers when in Normandy. We make our apple juice and now produce cider from our orchard. I love to travel too, so while I'm off doing that, please come enjoy my cozy little house.
