Beautiful farmhouse with a large garden on the edge of a quiet picturesque village with a local pub a 3 minute walk away serving very good food. 3 double bedrooms, 2 en suite, off road parking. This listing is for the Attic Suite which can sleep 2 adults and up to 4 children on mattress beds on the floor. There is also room for a travel cot.
Our attic has been converted to create a beautiful bedroom and bathroom, you have the whole floor to yourself. The large bathroom has a roll top bath and a shower. The bedroom has a king size bed, a large television, DVD player, and 2 chairs to create a seating area. There is plenty of space for mattress beds on the floor for children and a travel cot. We have a double and 2 single mattress beds and a travel cot you may borrow. Bedding is included for the mattress beds but not the travel cot.
There is a small fridge for you to use with fresh milk, tea and coffee facilities in the hallway.
We also have 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom with a very good shower on the first floor. The larger bedroom has an en suite bathroom, a king size bed, a TV and room for a cot or a single mattress bed for children. The second double bedroom has a beautiful bay window which can be taken with the larger room only as the 2 rooms share a bathroom. We also have 4 unfurnished bell tents in our field for let in the summer. To book please see the page about me.
We have a large, enclosed, secluded garden with several tables and chairs. A field behind the garden for our chickens, ducks and guinea fowl. You can walk straight onto a network of foot paths from our field. I have a good map with directions showing all local walks and some further to local pubs.
Higher Lewell Farm House was originally built in the 1760’s and the date can be seen clearly written in brick on the front of the house. The house is situated at the top of Hardys Row on the outskirts of the village backing on to fields. Hardys Row was named after Thomas Hardy's father who built 6 houses on the row to house the poor of the village.

The house and accommodation for guests consists of a kitchen where we invite you to take your breakfast. We offer a traditional breakfast but we are very happy to accommodate any dietary requirements or particular favourites. You may also collect fresh eggs from the chicken house if you like. We have a large secluded garden and vegetable patch with adjoining field for the chickens and our neighbours horse. We also have a room suitable for coats, boots and bikes.

Dorset County Museum in Dorchester 4 miles away provides wonderful exhibits about the Jurassic coast, local historical finds as well as a temporary art gallery showing varied works of art, many of which are for sale.
Athlehampton House is a wonderful stately home and gardens just 5 miles.
Dorset & Devon Military Museum again in Dorchester, provides wonderful views over the landscape from the top of its Keep as well as having a collection of artefacts, uniforms and weapons.
Corfe Castle one of the most evocative ruined castles in England is a 20 minute drive away.
The Cerne Abbas Giant and the White Horse in Osmington are giant carvings into the chalk hillsides of Dorset.

Higher Lewell Farmhouse is just 5 miles from the Hardy Way, the Jubilee trail and the South West Coast Path. These offer a wide variety of well signed walks in addition to hundreds of local footpaths and bridleways across the county.
A National cycle route passes near by our village for road based bikes.
For those with mountain bikes, Puddletown Forest provides good off road opportunities as well as jumps for dare devils, this is just a 25 minute bike ride or 8 minutes by car.
Places to Eat
Nearby is the famous county town of Dorchester which has many good Indian, Chinese, Thai and Italian Restaurants.
The new Brewery Square development offers lots of well known restaurants such as Nandos, Zizzi, Carluccios, Wagamama and Pizza Express. It has a large outdoor cinema screen as well as a large indoor multi screen cinema and a large courtyard with a fountain system for children to play in.
Weymouth harbour is only a 15 minute drive and offers a wide variety of good pubs and restaurants.

Guests are welcome to bring dogs for £5 extra per night but only if they are 110% cat, dog and people friendly.
