The larger bedroom has an en suite bathroom, a king size bed, a TV and room for a cot or a single mattress bed for children. The second double bedroom has a beautiful bay window which can be taken with the larger room only as the 2 rooms share a bathroom. There is space for a cot and a single mattress bed suitable for children in the smaller room. To book these rooms please see the seperate listings on the page about me.

We also have 4 unfurnished bell tents in our field for let in the summer. To book please see the page about me.

We have a large, enclosed, secluded garden with several tables and chairs. A field behind the garden for our chickens, ducks and guinea fowl. You can walk straight onto a network of foot paths from our field. I have a good map with directions showing all local walks and some further to local pubs.

Higher Lewell Farm House was originally built in the 1760’s and the date can be seen clearly written in brick on the front of the house. The house is situated at the top of Hardys Row on the outskirts of the village backing on to fields. Hardys Row was named after Thomas Hardy's father who built 6 houses on the row to house the poor of the village.

My family spent a very enjoyable stay at Sophia's. The house and rooms are charming and extremely comfortable. Everything was very clean and the bed linen and towels were lovely. The whole place has a really lovely (and typically English) feel to it, created by Sophia and Mike, who are welcoming and on hand if you need anything. The stay was very easy and exceeded our expectations - we would definitely recommend it to others and hope to return.

Sophia is a highly attentive hostess and the attic is gorgeous. We had a nice meal at the New Inn, the local pub. Before breakfast, we played with the dogs in the garden, at least the yellow dog asked us to play with him and his ball! A really bucolic and relaxing stay.

Stayed in the large attic room - loads of space, lovely decor, really comfy bed, great bathroom. Sophia and Mike wonderfully welcoming, as were the assorted members of the family (I fell in love with "the fat one" )... Breakfast very convivial around the table with other guests, and Sophia had checked what we wanted so provided everything we liked. Lots of information on the surrounding area and villages. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely be booking again.

Sophia made us feel incredibly welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The attic space is large and yet cosy and it was nice to have our own suite separate from the rest of the house. Sophia was very relaxed with the children who wanted to spend time with the lovely dogs and cats and was infinitely patient with us all. We will definitely be returning.
