À propos de ce logement
Take in the snow-capped Elk Range from a spacious "eco" home in Old Snowmass, convenient to both Aspen and Snowmass Village (25 minutes to each) and to Glenwood Springs (35 minutes). We've changed our rental to offer you exclusive use of the house (but feel free to ask for just the upstairs for a reduced price). The great room features modern aesthetics and a gourmet kitchen with a spacious walk-out deck off the dining area. Your master suite has a king bed, walk-in closet, ensuite bath with shower plus deep soak claw-foot tub, and views of a natural canyon. The "kids'" room, with its 13-ft climbing wall and views of Snowmass ski resort, has a queen-size bed as well as two twin beds in the loft, and a private bathroom across the hall. Note that the wall separating the "kids'" from the great room stops short of the 13' ceiling so it is audibly connected to the great room, but visually private. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, a huge bathroom and a family room with a mini-kitchenette.
The downstairs suite is currently "offline" but we can make additional rooms available for an additional charge upon request. The downstairs suite has 2 bedrooms, 1 large bath, a mini-kitchenette and family room.
As an architect and an artist, we carefully built our home with beams salvaged from Aspen demolitions, earthen plasters and other healthy, natural materials, and fresh air exchange. No fossil fuels here--our superefficient home is powered & heated by the sun and a toasty-warm, clean-burning wood pellet stove. We keep the home healthy with natural cleaning products and no smoking. While there is no cable TV, you'll have free wifi, and we welcome well-behaved pets.
You will need a car because we are a couple miles (uphill) from the bus stop. But with a car, you’ll have access to all the valley has to offer, including Aspen/Snowmass ski slopes, shops, restaurants and entertainment, Glenwood’s hot springs pool, gold-medal fly fishing in Basalt, and the charming town of Carbondale where you can enjoy artsy shops, a rodeo in the summer or the ice skating pond in the winter. Our house adjoins BLM open space and you can hike up Light Hill right from our back yard, or you can drive to the trailheads of some of Colorado’s “14er” mountains or go on a mountain biking or rafting adventure. From our deck you can watch the hot air balloons land at dawn in the valley below. At times you'll be above the clouds and you may see hawks soaring below or elk grazing. In the evening, enjoy the mountains glowing in the setting sun, or take in the blazing Milky Way and shooting stars after dark.
No smoking on the premises! And please, no outdoor campfires, as this is wildfire country. Well-behaved pets are allowed, but not on the furniture. Finally, please remove your shoes or boots inside the house.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 24 heures avant le voyage, vous recevez un remboursement intégral, frais de service compris.

Hi! I'm an architect with a passion for green building and being outdoors. I designed our net-zero home, and my husband, an artist, built it, using natural and salvaged materials. When we're not enjoying our sunny home with its amazing views, or cooking gourmet food, we're out with our two young boys, hiking, climbing mountains, skiing, biking or playing hockey or soccer. We've traveled all over the world and have particularly loved visiting Thailand, Chile, and Greece, but more than anywhere, we enjoy being right here in the mountains of Colorado. Lest we take the gorgeous landscape and crisp, sunny weather for granted, we sometimes have to pinch ourselves and say, "Yes, we live here!"
