Recently renovated historic brick home on a quiet, residential street a short walk from the pedestrian mall, downtown Belmont, the IX Art Park and the Saturday city market (Apr-Dec).
Open floor plan links the European kitchen, dining space and living room (w wood stove and 50" Samsung plasma display) into one gathering space. Ideal for couples or a small family looking to enjoy the unique walkability of our downtown from a distinctly small town neighborhood.
The mature zero-scaped front courtyard offers a lovely spot to retreat for a cup of coffee, gather around the fire pit or dine a la fresco. A teak dining table and gas grill for cookouts.
Two off-street parking spaces (quite unusual for this largely street parking neighborhood). 2 more spots available for $10/ea/day (request at booking).

We are a family of 4 (2 teenage daughters). We have lived in Charlottesville for over 17 years. We rent the house out when we travel to make ends meet and to share this wonderful neighborhood with out of town visitors. If we are not able to meet you in person for check-in we will make sure you know where the keys are and, of course, I will be available via the airbnb site or cell phone for any questions you may have.
We hope you will enjoy our home and old-timey neighborhood as much as we do. Please help us keep our neighbors happy by parking in back and keeping noise down after 10ish.
We have two cats - a grey bobtail and his mottled fluffy-tailed sister - that may or may not come around while you are here. They would appreciate it if you could put a cup of dry food in their bowls once per day. :)
Children are most welcome but you should know that our house is not formally "child-proofed"
We would be grateful if you would feed our cats (each day) and water our indoor plants (2x/wk) in the event that we are out of town during your stay. Detailed instructions will be in the house.
I've lived in the Belmont neighborhood for 16 years with my husband, Brian, and daughters, Luka and Maya. I like to walk/bike, cook, talk to my neighbors, pick out produce at the farmer's market, sit and look at the ocean (not here, obviously) and listen to porch music up and down our street. My book of the moment is The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know is Possible by Charles Eisenstein. My motto: Rise! Disrupt! Connect! from
I was born in Belgrade, Serbia but have lived in the USA since I was 8 years old. I have done a fair bit of traveling and almost always choose airbnb accommodations. It has been incredibly gratifying to meet people from places all over the world, to share their homes and learn a bit more about their cultures. I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to host other travelers and warmly welcome guests from all walks of life. Even smokers but outside only, please. ;)
I also love animals but our house (just next to the cottage) is home to two cats. Although they are hardly thrilled about it, we do welcome well-behaved (i.e. non-cat-chasing) dogs.
Here's to serendipitous encounters!
