Le logement
OPEN YEAR ROUND: NO CLEANING FEE, OPEN DURING ALL HOLIDAYS
This HOUSE/COTTAGE is located in a QUIET country setting where you are free to take a walk in the woods and see 300+ year old Sugar Maple, find fossils in the creek, or just relax around the camp fire with limited amount of wood provided. Blueberry muffins are freshly made, upon arrival, from home grown blueberries.
*Bring your WATERPROOF footwear and long pants for hiking.
*There is a covered porch the entire length of the house where seating and gas grill is provided.
** Due to COVID-19 I have removed bedspreads which are in the pictures to make laundering less time consuming. Pictures show beds with cute bedspreads. I wash all blankets, bedding and mattress and pillow protector covers after every guest.
***Campfire wood is also provided for EVENING fires. If you want to have ALL DAY fires or need more you may have to buy some wood from the local area or you are free to forage in the woods. For cold weather, enjoy a fire in the wood burning fireplace where wood is provided for EVENING fires.
*Hosts are close enough to be helpful, but will not infringe on your privacy. If you want a place AWAY from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place for you. (first morning blueberry muffins upon request, streaming TV, WiFi, DVD player, free washer and dryer, air conditioning, furnace heat, fully appointed kitchen, gas grill, fire pit, bedding, towels, Reverse Osmosis water system, so no need to bring bottled water and other conveniences)
*NO Cleaning fee
*NOTE in many of our reviews people call our rental a CABIN, but it is a beautiful small country COTTAGE with cherry floors and a fireplace. As you can see from the pictures it's not as rustic as a cabin.
*I SANITIZE rental with National Sanitation Foundation approved products after every guest including: light switches, TV remotes, couches, bathrooms, kitchen, door knobs and other things people touch. I am trying to make sure NEW bookings are, at least, 1 days apart, so can clean and help guests feel rental is free of germs which might have been present from previous guests. I also follow Airbnb's cleaning protocol.
*Loft Half Bathroom: It has moveable partition walls, which is not as private as the regular full bathroom on the main floor which has all privacy desired. Due to the location in the loft walls were hard to construct. It has a sink and toilet for late night needs, so guests don't have to go downstairs.

Accès des voyageurs
Entire house and grounds. Path is marked to hike to 300+ year old Sugar Maple tree and creek, but you need waterproof boots. There are 68 blueberry bushes behind the rental where you can pick a quart, during the end of June until the first part of August, and walk to the pond to feed the fish bread.
The Erie Extension Canal was at the bottom of our driveway where the single railroad track is now. There are only a few trains a day hauling iron ore. It has an old fashioned whistle which I enjoy.

Autres remarques
We are located in a secluded area, so if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of a city, this is the place to be. Expect to drive between 10 to 30 minutes to go to stores and restaurants. An Amish grocery store is 3 miles away where you can buy eggs, milk, bacon, cheeses some baked goods and many other items, but are closed Sundays. Walmart, Giant Eagle, Wegmans, grocery stores and restaurants are a 10 to 25 minute drive from the rental. They are listed on this site on GUIDEBOOK and in our information book at the rental.
*Due to the current Pandemic many restaurants and businesses may be temporarily closed.
*There are restaurants 10 minutes away: Sunnyside Diner-breakfast is simple cheap, Jim and Sue's-lunch, and dinner, McDonalds and Valenza-lunch and dinners of Italian food and great pizza and Ruth’s in Conneautville where pancakes are huge-closed Sundays. Reeds *Smokin J's Country Corner Inn 17880 Cole Road Conneautville, Pa 814-6832163, Open Thurs.-Sunday after 3:00P.m. 15 minute drive
*Madelines in Cranesville, PA on Route 18 going north
*Pizza in Albion has less expensive pizza.
*If you like more up scale dining enjoy the Silver Shores Restaurant in Conneaut Lake which is an easy drive about 20 minutes away on Route 322. It has a wonderful view of Conneaut Lake. Closed in winter, but opening up again in February)
*There's a grocery store and Dollar General in Albion, less than 10 minutes away.
*Edinboro: 20 minutes away: Walmart, Tim Hortons, Taco Bell, Bagel Shop-breakfast and lunch-homemade bagels, and some others
*Erie: near Presque Isle: Ihop, Moe's-Mexican, Applebees, Popeye's, and many other fast food restaurants.
*Bring camp chairs for campfires. Some are divided.
*We also provide a limited amount of wood for fires. There’s plenty close by, in the woods, to add to your fires.
*We often get up to 200 inches of snow a year.
IF YOU ARE NOT USED TO DRIVING IN WINTER WEATHER YOU MAY NOT WANT TO COME HERE DURING JANUARY THROUGH MARCH. We plow the driveway, but the driveway can be challenging in the winter. We have never been stuck in the 40 years we have lived here, but are used to winter weather.

Abundant wildlife is around such as deer, turkey, Eagles, raccoons, bears etc. We're located 1 mile from state game lands. The main branch of Conneaut Creek is a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive. There's a farm near and you can sometimes hear the cows mooing in the distance. The train goes by on a single track a couple times a day. The Extension of the Erie Canal, closed in 1870"s. It was filled in to accommodate the single railroad track. Guests like to hear the old fashioned whistle. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

I am a retired public school Special Education Teacher who taught grades 1-8 for 34 years. Meeting people from different cultures is something I enjoy, because I attended a Quaker high school (Olney Friends School in Barnesville, Ohio) where I had classmates from all over the world. The school is still attended today after 180 years. I learned about different places and cultures and how they enrich our lives. We moved to Springboro, in 1971, because we enjoy country life and friendly neighbors who are always willing to give a helping hand. If you enjoy nature and getting away from a busy lifestyle this is the place to enjoy. You can take a 30 minute hike to see the fossils in the creek or to the 300+ year old Sugar Maple. From the end of June to the middle of August you can pick blueberries right behind the house where there are 68 blueberry bushes. If this is something you would enjoy, bring your boots and a quart container and start your adventure.
