Guests can contact me anytime. I am here to help. I am in the New York time zone so if I am not sleeping I am very prompt to reply to all inquires.
Once you arrive, my cousin Sayed will arrange to meet you at the airport and will drive you down to Azzurra, show you all the cool things to do in the area and give you the key to the flat. This service is completely complementary.
Regarding the internet, Azzurra charges about $5 USD per day, $20 for 1 week or $65 USD for a month of wireless internet access. If that is something you will be interested in you can pay reception as needed. Be warned: the internet is extremely slow in Egypt compared to the rest of the world.
Sahl Hasheesh beach is the nicest beach you're likely to find in all of Egypt. You're welcome to go to the beach and relax on your own towel on the sand free of charge. However, if you wish to rent a lounge chair with umbrella and a towel it costs 10 EGP per person. The normal price is 60 EGP per person, but as my guest you get the same discounted price as they charge me. See reception to get a beach token to give to the staff and they will take care of you.
My American TV has never worked with Azzurra's cable box, their engineers can't figure it out. So I have always streamed movies from my computer, iPhone or iPad through the Apple TV but it requires internet (see prices above.)
If you have movies on a flash drive you can connect it through the USB port on the Xbox. Unfortunately, the surround sound isn't hooked up to work with the Xbox as I had to choose between that and the Apple TV.
The Phone in the flat is internal only for Azzurra, to call the restaurant or reception.
For stays over one month: I will provide the electricity for the first month (up to $100 USD) but after such time, please refill the electricity card at reception as needed.
• DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR LONG STAY(URL HIDDEN) 2 - 3 MONTHS. €750 (per month)
Do you mind if I come with my boyfriend as we are not married?
I am the owner of my unit so I do not have to follow typical Egyptian Hotel rules that couples have to be married to stay together. That is a stupid rule. You can stay here in my apartment without being married with no problem whatsoever. In fact, most of my guests have been in this exact situation and they had no problems at all. The staff at Azzurra is very welcoming to my guests.
How much are the restaurants in the area?
There are many different price points for restaurants in the area. Hurghada has some local places that are really cheap. But I'd say you'll probably be going to more touristy places so expect the prices to be between 60 - 150 EGP. For example, the pizza at Ginger (the restaurant right next to the pool at Azzurra) charges 60 EGP for a really nice italian pizza. The average dinner is around 100 EGP and you'll probably find the most expensive thing to be around 150 EGP. Those prices are probably a lot cheaper than what you're used to paying when you go out for dinner back home.
NO SMOKING in the flat. If you must smoke, I would ask that you always smoke outside on the balcony with the doors closed so no smoke enters the flat. In addition, if the flat smells of smoke on your departure you will forfeit your security deposit entirely.
No Pets Please.
I will provide the first 100 EGP credit for the electricity. This should be sufficient for most guest stays. If you leave the air conditioning on all day, when you're out so you can come home to a cool flat, you'll have to pay for the electric card refills.
I will only enforce the 3pm check in time and 12pm (noon) departure time if I have another guest arriving that day. If not, you're free to check in early or depart late at no additional charge.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 5 jours avant votre voyage, vous recevez un remboursement intégral, frais de service compris.
I'm a world traveler. Born and raised in the USA but I've lived in Thailand, Hong Kong and Egypt. I've been to 24 countries and I love exploring new places. However, the reason I chose to buy a place overlooking the Red Sea in Egypt was the year-round great weather, the low cost of living and the epic scuba diving. My favorite reef is just a 5 minute walk from my doorstep, no boat necessary.
Most recently, my wife Jessica and I went to Croatia for our honeymoon and ended our trip in Venice, Italy and it was great. We found nice, affordable places on Airbnb that felt like we were living as locals instead of a typical hotel, which is what I love about Airbnb.
