One-bedroom casita with separate access and off-street parking gives you privacy in a semi-rural area. A great place to come home to after touring New Mexico or visiting the grandkids. Close to Los Poblanos Inn, 15 minutes from Downtown and Old Town. Enjoy the large brick patio, verdant yard and colorful flower gardens, take a walk along Albuquerque's age-old 'acequias' to a nearby open space preserve. Our friendly dogs like to say "Hi".
The casita is a fully furnished two-room traditional adobe building with modern amenities, natural plaster walls and brick floors. The casita accommodates a couple or small family, sleeping two adults in the bedroom's queen sized bed and one adult or two children on a couch bed and fold-out foam mattress. Off the bedroom sits a full bathroom with a cast iron tub/shower, with Mexican tile tub surround and vanity counter, and a heated saltillo tile floor. The kitchen area of the living room serves for making coffee and light cooking, stocked with Fiestaware dishes and some cooking utensils, a small refrigerator, tea kettle, French press coffee pot, microwave, and toaster oven.
The house and casita sit on a half acre full of trees in a 1940s neighborhood. The casita's 16-inch-thick adobe walls have a natural interior plaster finish, with ceilings of beautiful roughsawn native pine boards and hand-peeled log beams called vigas. The brick and tile floors are toasty in winter with radiant floor heat.
Accès des voyageurs
The casita sits tucked behind the main house with a separate entrance through a side gate. Guests are welcome to use the 20x40' brick patio between the main house and casita, with plenty of outdoor furniture, a covered dining table, and a gas grill. We have a school-grade swing set and a bin full of yard games for kids to play with. There is off-street parking for one car. Access to the main house is not included in the rental, but arrangements can be made for doing laundry.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We have an informal lifestyle and someone is usually aroud if you need something, want to ask about restaurants or places to see, or just to visit (Dan is often home during the day). Guests may have as much privacy as suits them. Our house is home to three dogs and a cat, so our guests should like having animals in the yard and peeking in their front door now and then.
Your rental includes a complimentary bottle of red or white wine, local craft beers, soft drinks, selection of teas, and a basket of snacks.
There is Wi-Fi Internet access in the casita, as well as a TV with Roku channels and over-the-air HDTV, but no cable. The bookcase next to the bed is stocked with books on local history, art, and other subjects of interest, and a varied selection of fiction as well.
This is a non-smoking property. For the most part, quiet hours are 10 PM to 6 AM. Guests are requested to park on the right side of the driveway. The side gate needs to be closed to keep our long-legged hounds from getting out. Thanks!
