We're a married British couple, together for over 32 years & living full time here in Normandy for the past 16 years. I'm Irish & Mike is English...we do have an interesting time during the 6 nations!
Mike a former photo journalist ...I'm not sure if there are many countries he hasn't visited & I trained and worked as Hotel Manager then went onto owning a small recruitment agency in London.
We're young 60's, (new 40's I'm told & sincerely hope is true!)...
Our rental vacation properties, are in an area of great historic interest in the heart of WW2 Landing Beaches...you have a choice, Beach, Town or Country...a beach house on Utah Beach 10 minutes away, a historic town house in Sainte Marie du Mont or a cottage & barn apartment for couples only here on our little 'farm' where we keep our creatures to include 4 dogs, 8 cats, 2 Llamas, 3 Alpacas, 2 sheep, 2 goats, 20 or so chickens, and 1 goose... but PLEASE do not book here at the farm if you don't like animals or have any allergies (the dogs are convinced you are here for 1 reason only...for them!) We seem to like having properties opposite the church...they tend to have a bell tower, with spookily enough a bell that rings, at the farm, it's the countryside so there are things like cockerels and in the field next to us a donkey...Stavros, who has the loudest bray in Normandy! He's not our donkey, but he thinks he is!!
I knit, sometimes using the Alpaca wool), embroider, enjoy making soft furnishings...I'm told I'm a good cook. Mike loves his motor racing, cars and keen student of WW2 and has a 1940's Jeep. We both enjoy a good movie, but our main enjoyment is when we have folk to stay that like nothing better than explore the area, are interested in all it has to offer and are here to enjoy themselves...we are both passionate about this hidden area of Normandy and the history, we love nothing better than when we have the honour to meet and host WW2 veterans and their families which we've done many times over the years.
